“Expensive, Over Crowded and Expensive”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

The Friday night waling street, give is a pass. The streets are narrow is crammed with tourist's, the goods are mostly the same you find every where else but double the price.
There are some nice looking restaurants overlooking the ocean, they may be worth visiting on non-walking street nights.

“Excellent Night Out”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

If you come to Samui you must go to Fisherman's Village on a Friday night and do the walking street. Its a real buzz and mix of all sorts of people. You can buy virtually anything, stop at the numerous bars and restaurants, eat off the street or just people watch. Its all on the beach and we did not see any scams or scary people!! I suggest you relax, go with the flow have a few beers and enjoy. Get a cab there!!!

“Best walking street on the island”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

Great value and selection. We saw art (with the artists painting as they waited) of both painting, carving and leatherwork variety, jewellery, bags, clothing, very cheap cocktails (60-80 baht), good food, incense, soaps, creams, tissue box covers, snacks and treats... the list goes on!

“Busy but touristy”
Reviewed June 14, 2014 via mobile

Disclaimer: coming from south east Asia myself, markets like this are nothing special to me, having visited numerous ones in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Bophut walking street is massive, bringing you all the way down fisherman's village past the fancy seafood restaurants. The stalls mainly sell souvenirs, tshirts and tank tops etc. there are cocktails for as little as 60 baht and street food such as chicken satay, pork skewers, fruit shakes and the like. One stall selling mango sticky rice was very good. As was the coconut ice cream on a humid evening. Fun for an evening walk and to pick up some inexpensive souvenirs such as the monkeys carved out of whole coconuts, especially if you're visiting Asia from far away cities in the USA or Europe.
