For shopaholics like me and my wife, it was a great experience collecting souvenirs while savoring local food items. The atmosphere was very lively with people enjoying cocktails and bargaining with the vendors. The best thing we had there was Thai Ice Coffee for only 25 Baht and homemade coconut ice cream served in the coconut for 50 Baht. Beautiful soap carvings, clothing & accessories were displayed everywhere.

In all we had a great evening and would recommend it to anyone!

“Street party on a Thursday evening”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Evening street market on Thursdays with food stalls, cocktails for 50 Baht, live music. These quite streets in Mae Nam village transforms one a week to a lively happening for both locals and tourists! Dare trying a little of everything even if you don't know what it is exactly!

“madness and mojitos”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

fishermans village comes alive on friday evenings when the main street is closed to traffic and stalls start appearing from early evening [4 pm] to sell all sorts of food and drinks and just about anything else you might need
the assortment of street food is staggering and if you have too many mojitos you will be staggering also
went there last week and it was shoulder to shoulder madness
after some mojitos from the street vendors made our way to our favorite indian restaurant]
for some relief from the crowds
later had a wander down towards the west end of the village and listen to the waves lapping on the sand
always a great place to go on fridays with something for everyone

next week might try the walking street in Maenam

“Great fun!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

If you are up for some shopping, this place is perfect! Random stalls of food, textiles, clothing, wooden souvenirs, fruit, jewellery and mojito's line the streets of boutique stalls and restaurants. A great Friday night out if you enjoy being amongst the hustle and bustle! We had a great night!

“Do not miss the friday night walking markets”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We all went here last friday night after being told how good it was. Sadly it rained a little btu that just made it more fun. The street hawkers had cocktail bars set up all along the street and they are amazing value with Long Island Iced Teas at 50 baht (about $1.60 Aust) 3 of those and you having a fun night++. If you go down the main street to the bottom, turn left go to the next intersection and turn left back up the hill. That is where most of the food stalls are. Don't be afraid to try the deep fried pork it is spectacular. We ate and drank all night and only spent about $40 between the two of us. Do Not Miss It!
