“One of my best meals in SE Asia.”

The food was amazing, really fun to eat, of the kind you keep thinking about hours later. Awesome view of the beach during sunset. If you like you can actually dine on the sand with candle light. They also have an open kitchen so you can watch how they cook! The only thing I didn't like is the smoke that comes out of the kitchen while they cook and makes it sometimes hard to breath.

“Below expectation”
Reviewed February 21, 2013 via mobile

Food was below average: linguine overcooked and without flavor, fried calamari very oily and hard, the fish was ok. Service have to improve. We were also recommendet to not order pizza as it could have taken too long time, the restaurant was not even full at hat time...

“Great pizza on the beach... With unexpected fireworks !!!!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

We had a lovely pizza this evening at le cabanon, we had been to the sister bar next door for drinks and thought it was a lovely setting so we have it a try, service good, not too much of a wait (it was early, so not busy) pizza was great, really tasty, a nice change when we normally have curry every night! Wine was reasonable as well at 150 baht a glass, I think it was nearly 400 at krua !!! The main thing that marred the evening was that a tree of lights next to our table actually went on fire just as we were finishing our meal, sparks everywhere and it was pretty scary, our baby girl was really upset as we were at the fright and possibility of her being injured, nobody seemed that concerned about it, one waitress did ask if we were ok, but I felt a manager should have come over and calmed people down and perhaps offered them a drink to say sorry. We were going to stay for an after dinner cocktail but we left as our baby was so upset with the sudden noise and sparks.

“Really bad manager and food!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

I would say to anyone who is thinking of going for a meal in this restaurant, don’t bother! We waited for over an hour for our meal to arrive. We were just on the point of walking out, after complaining several times about the length of time it was taking for the meal to arrive, when they literally came running out from the kitchen with the meal . Before we had even started eating the manager, well we think he was the manager because he did very little work and let the poor waitress run around, came across to us and asked how was it , we told him that it had taken too long to arrive and his reply was “well we are busy and you are on holiday” and walked off and that is really what we should have done. We had ordered curried crab but found that it had hardly any crab meat in it but lots and lots of very thin legs with no meat in them at all! It was as though they had just used crab shells to flavour the meal. I feel sorry for the staff working there because there is obviously not enough of them. As for the manager or whoever he is, he is an ignorant man who would not know good customer service it hit him in the face. This was the worst meal of our 2 week break and the worst service. There are plenty of restaurants and bars along Fishermans Village that have just as good a view overlooking the sea as this one does. Choose one of those rather than this.

“Fab meal”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

I was a tad skeptical about this place, as I read about the service being terrible...I'll start by saying the service was absolutely fab. No problems there, and it's not as if it was quiet, it was 8pm on a Monday night in high season we went! The food was lush...we shared tempurara for starter, big portion and really nice, and mains we had the palma pizza, which was really really good, one of the best pizza i have had actually, & its homemade which I love, and we had the duck breast with balsamic caramel, lush, and the things it came with too were delish. We saw other people's meals, pasta looked yummy too...you also get a complimentary bread roll, and everything presented lovely, with flowers etc. the setting is also really nice. Price: More than reasonable considering portion size and quality...the whole meal came to around 900bt including 2 beers!
