We loved this place - service is a little grumpy but there was a pregnant cat that kept us company while we waited. Service aside, the food was incredible and very good value for money

We have been at this restaurant on January 24th, 2014 and it was really crowded due to the Bophut Night Market. Luckily, some people left from a table in a separate part of the restaurant which was like a private, cozy dining room when we arrived. You need to bring time with you to get such a table as the restaurant does not allow bookings. The food was delicious, but the service was disappointing. The woman looked unfriendly and seemed to be hacked off. She welcomed us with the information that our order will take 1 hour until the food will be served. On top she ignored that my husband got the wrong dish and walked away without any excuse or offer to change the dish to what my husband has ordered. At the end it has taken a really long time until she realized that we have finished and wanted the bill. Overall, the food was great, the service not - so sad for the cook.

Upon arriving samui, concierge recommended restaurants near by, which are very tourists typed, however I insists on trying the "local Thai food". So they directed me to "the hut".

This place blew my mind, regardless of the poor service provided by the owner, the food was fantastic and they charged a fraction of the price compare to other restaurants near by.

More to mention, their cocktails there are 89bahts each, I believe they free pour their drinks, because it is sooooo strong. Definitely worth it's value.

The next day, my partner and I thought we would try other restaurant near by for lunch, but it was a total disappointment and they charged 3 times as much as the hut. We couldn't help ourself but to go back to the hut for 2nd lunch.

Overall this place is a must try for great traditional Thai food, providing you are comfortable with a family that pretty much runs this cafe from their house and provides very average service

A lovely spot in Fisherman's Village top get some Thai food while avoiding the overpriced and overrated restaurants on the beach front. The food is fresh and delicious and the coconut shake is not to be missed.

We dined here twice whilst staying in Samui. The food is just as high quality and flavoursome as the high end restaurants in Fishermans village. The service was fantastic and extremely friendly. The cocktails are cheap and amazing... Highly recommended that you visit The Hut for authentic, flavoursome Thai cuisine. It's a winner.
