This was our first trip to Ko Samui and after reading reviews from several travellers we made a choice to try this place. It is, es explained by few of our fellow travellers, at the very end of the Fishermen's Village in Bophut. In fact it is after the lots of restaurants and bar, at the point that it almost seem that you are going to a residential area.
The name "The Hut" is completely justified as it is a hut in simple words - open with no doors or anything of the sorts, just under a roof. We were lucky that there was a table available so we didn't have to wait to sit.
I must admit that I was a bit uncertain at first and that perhaps we made a mistake in going to this place. Now I am almost embarrassed to admit we had a bit of hesitation, because we can guarantee you that the quality of the food, the flavours, the size of the meals are unbelievable. We had green curry with tiger prawns, papaya salad (stunning) and stir-fired crab in curry powder. Also rice and two drinks each with my wife. I can safely say that it is a place that must be visited if you come around this part of the world.
And the prices are so cheap that it is hard to believe it. We left a hefty tip, because they just deserve it; from the warm friendly service, to the quality and the genuineness of the food. Just awesome!

The hut is a small restaurant with a few tables just at the end of the fisherman village main road. We have rented an apartment beside it but we ignored it for the first days. One day we tried it and we regretted not to have stopped there before.

The food is amazingly good and it is probably the best thai food we've had in thailand. The classic curries or noodles are good, but you can taste the real difference when you start ordering fish, prawns or the crab, which is excellent.

The service is really good and they are really nice and helpful. Drinks are good too, don't be afraid to try the cocktails if you like them, which are made with a decent amount of alcohol.

The price of the food and drinks is really reasonable and the quality is much better than other fancier and more expensive restaurants that you can find on the same road.

Yes, as for the other reviews, you will have to wait a little bit longer, but that is because every dish is made fresh for you - just have another drink. Don't miss this place.

We have been to Bophut 3 times now and love this little Restaurant, sure as it has become more popular, the waiting time has got longer, but it is well worth waiting for. Great food, lovely staff who all work very hard to please, prices are amazing for the quality provided and drinks are so cheap.
We urge everyone to try this great little spot, you will not regret it.

After reading reviews on trip advisor we decided to give The Hut a try and we were not disapointed. We booked ahead as suggested. The restaurant is basic but cosy. There is a little wait for food but it is well worth it as it fresh and delicious. Another bonus was that wine by the glass was very cheap in comparison to other restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that we ate here again and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
Don't miss out!

We struggled finding this place... It's on the main road in the fishermans village but right at the opposite end of the Hansar resort, it's opposite the waterfront resort. The food was easily some of the best we'd had and very cheap. 500baht for calamari starter (which was very very fresh and crispy) a red chicken curry (huge portion) and beef in oyster sauce (very tasty) with 2 beers and 2 fantas. Would highly recommend this quaint little place so glad we finally found it. So much cheaper than anywhere else in the village and traditional Thai fare, don't miss it!!
