I met up with some friends for dinner at Red Moon last night. From beginning to end, it was a wonderful experience. The owner, Gauci, is super friendly and he immediately came over to our table to introduce himself.
When we asked what were the house specialties, he took out his i-pad and showed us photos of some of his favorite and most highly recommended dishes. We are seafood lovers, so we ordered three of those. The red snapper was incredibly deliciously prepared and served on a fluffy bed of mashed potatoes along with some of the most delicious scallops i've ever found on Koh Samui. The tuna was cooked to perfection and just how we ordered it, seared and pink in the middle.
For dessert, we had a scrumptious cooked strawberry dish with a rich strawberry sauce. We used some of the sauce on the artfully made fried ice cream that was in the shape of a heart.
In addition to the attentive service, Gauci also brought some yummy mussels and fried bread to our table to get us started. Those items were complimentary and only added to the overall experience at Red Moon. If you are looking for a french restaurant and you appreciate a owner/chef who loves to treat his guests with special attention and a clear love of french cuisine, this is the place to go!
