Went to Cafe 69 last night. Sure it's a little off th beaten track but probably a good job as iif it were it would constantly be full and you wouldn't get a table (it probably has only about 20 or so covers) Vivienne is obviously really proud of his restaurant - from the decor, the wonderfully imaginative/ delicious food, but to the lovely service as well. Here is someone that takes such pleasure in making sure your Cafe69 experience is one you won't forget. He is engaging, endearing and above all so enthusiastic about the food that he serves. Our particular favourite was the Green Curry Chicken Dumplings! Only drawback is that the restaurant is right on the main road - but to tell you the truth when we got inside you could have been anywhere! A well deserved current holder of the #1 position in our opinion!

You should go out of your way to eat here. Somehow we found it a little are to find. Don't know why as there was a great big 69 facing the road.

This small, flamboyant restaurant has heaps of character and the food is terrific. In fact possibly one of the best meals we had on Samui.

Lovely friendly people. Owner takes time to chat to you. Cosy small laid back atmosphere.
Food was a great modern twist on thai food i.e something a bit different to the usual. We enjoyed it a lot as it was unique food not found anywhere else.

OUTSTANDING is all we can say about this AMAZING eatery. The owner has made a classy, intimate, fun, warm welcoming place to dine on the most EXCELLENT diverse, creative menu selection, and the DRINK menu is off the chain ! Those drinks ..WOW..couldn't have had more than 2, lol..they have a punch for sure ! My husband and I got to be the first patrons on a Monday early afternoon, Vivienne was an AMAZING host to us, and made us feel so welcome, as if we were family. A MUST GO TO place while on the island.. THANK YOU VIVIENNE for an excellent afternoon ;-) Cori & Brian

We ate at Cafe 69 after reading all the hype on TA. We were quite surprised to find it was so close to our hotel (Hansar).

At first impression it doesnt strike you as what you might expect from such a highly regarded restaurant. However, first impressions aside, we found it to be a truly enjoyable dining experience. The service from Vivien the owner was friendly and attentive. His intrrpretation of Thai cuisine was thoroughly enjoyable - we had the green curry dumplings, slow cooked chicken leg and pad thai which were all excellent. They do awesome cocktails as well.

If you're after something a little out of the ordinary, i would highly recommend a visit to Cafe 69. Sure its no H-Bistro or Six Senses in it's setting, but if youre after a memorable and enjoyable meal then you cant go wrong.
