“You want meat, go to the butcher's place”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

The new owner is the island's best (only real?) butcher. More? He's obsessed with customers' satisfaction. So it can't go wrong. Don't expect Michelin starred stuff though, it's one notch underneath, but with top quality ingredients. At an attractive price that makes you wonder why you spent double (or more) for (a lot) less 200m. away the evening before... Don't miss the special evenings, AND the pork chop, Thai pork meat is unrivaled, and Ian's (the butcher) is truly delicious. Very good service, with a twist of humour too, quite refreshing.
P.S. there's a car parking (40Bht) across the street, precious in busy Fisherman's village

“When a butcher opens a meat restaurant”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

I know the owner of the French Butchery, and trust his products are always fresh and tasty. He delivers his meat to most 5+ resorts. Now he owns a restaurant and couldn't wait to try his kitchen.
His meats are excellent, as well as his Monday night specials (appreciated by most resident expats and full booked every time). His staff is well trained and fully managed by the owner.
With regards to the vslue you can count on it the owner, being the butcher as well, is fairly pricing for his high quality meat.

I recommend to give the owner to let you guide trough the menu.

Small note, I read negative comments about the Thai food and pizzas. I can't judge on that part as I believe you eat meat at a butchery restaurant and not fish :)

“great restaurant!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The restaurant will propose you typical French dishes such as "Cote de Boeuf" or "Jarret d'Agneau", and also some dishes with a touch of Caribbean flavours, which is unique in Samui.
Well,I have spent a great time with my girlfriend, as the atmosphere makes you feeling in home. Simple, nice, with another feeling that you are not going to be disappointed!
The wine by the glass, french, is perfect as the whole wine list. The famous Pinot Noir is the most popular! Prices are also very very reasonable , specially in the Fisherman Village.
Thanks to Yann, the butcher of Samui, (that might explain why the meat is so good...:-)) and his team to have re-create the Villa Daudet.

“Lovely restaurant”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

Initially I was a bit put off by the fancy menu but ordered linguini carbonara and can honestly say it was the best I've ever tasted. The profiteroles were still frozen in the middle which was why I didn't give a 5 but I really enjoyed the meal and the decent wine was a reasonable price for a change in Koh Samui!
