My partner & I just recently stayed at the mantra for two weeks and were very sad to leave! We stayed in the Love Jacuzzi Oasis, stunning ocean views out towards Phangan and not to mention your own private jacuzzi. All staff at the hotel were super friendly and more than willing to answer any questions, and absolutely fantastic with little kids. On arrival at koh samui airport we had a van ready waiting for us which we had pre booked for $8nzd per person.i do recommend getting to the fabulous pool early to grab a seat especially if you are in a small group, they have replaced all seating with brand new lounges which are very comfortable. The free shuttle service is great and on check out we were informed that they are putting on extra vans. I would highly recommend staying at this fabulous resort!

Mantra we will be back!!

I stayed here with my partner in April in one of the 'love rooms' which have a balcony with own spa bath for 2 and sun lounging bean bag big enough for 2. We were collected from the airport in one of the plushest vehicles we have ever seen with interior cream leather recliner seats and mirrored ceilings! We felt like royalty!! On arrival we were greeted with ice cold juice and welcomed by friendly staff. Our room was wonderful with lovely touches such as a shelf full of books, free internet, the aroma of burning essential oils and one of the comfiest beds ever experienced. The bathroom provided an array of pump dispenser products and other touches. The location of the resort was sensational- away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip and with glorious views over the bay. The facilities included a 24 hour gym (good for those with jetlag!), free daily yoga sessions, a stunning infinity pool (where you can swim up to the bar and order a cocktail whilst taking a pew), restaurant serving food all day and night (plus room service outside these hours) including an extensive and delicious breakfast with any coffee you desire, spa where you can take treatments, a sun deck and a free shuttle service throughout the day to 2 local areas where you can explore the towns and lay on the beach. We could not fault this place which has the happiest staff we have ever met. We will return.

Room Tip: Rooms that are high up have a much better view (they include lots more stairs though too!) and the love rooms are great for couples.

We wanted to treat ourselves on our 35 anniversary and stay somewhere nice... this place more than fits the bill. Located away from the mainstream hotel area, the hotel is on a mountainside overlooking the ocean. A serene setting that is complimented by incredible facilities, excellent dining and exceptional service. Only stayed a few nights and wished we had booked for more. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The Love Jacuzzi Rooms are nice but book the "cozy" if it is available... close to the restaurant and pool and excellent views.

Just back from our holiday in Thailand, which included 5 night stay at Mantra Samui. We booked the hotel after all the good reviews here and we were glad they were all true and more.

All 5 days we had only good experience with the hotel, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The staff went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and hassle free. Especially Sai, who gave us really good recommendations on bars and she also helped us out with a minor issue we had with the jeep hire company - we hired a jeep via the hotel and the agent from the hire company tried to rip us off few hundred bahts by giving a jeep with almost dry tank and asking for some money to get fuel at 55 baht per litre of petrol (when the going rate was at the max 40 baht, which we were not aware of) When we ventured out and realised that we had been duped we highlighted this to Sai, who immediately contacted the hire company and got them to pay back all the money for the fuel the 'con-agent' took from us earlier that day. Sai re-assured to us that the hire company is reliable and this was a one off case, I can believe this because the issue was resolved so soon!

My advice, if you are new to Samui and staying at Mantra, then just book your rental via the hotel.

Regarding the facilities, the room was excellent with great views of the sea and Ko Phangan on the horizon. You have espresso machines, TV/PC with many movies and telly shows (we made good use of this sadly as most of the days we experienced unusually high rainfall/thunderstorms). The gym is adequate with great views. We also enjoyed a complimentary cocktail hour and a complimentary cooking class during our stay.

Whenever the weather was good, we made full use of Mantra's very efficient shuttle service. Was really impressed that they operated this with reference to room numbers, making sure those people who booked it did get a call 5 minutes before departing.

Breakfast was very good, and the view from the restaurant only makes it better.

My only suggestion to Mantra would be to keep some milk sachets (or half a pint of fresh milk in the fridge) for making tea or coffee, as we had to call to ask for milk when we had to make some tea in the room.

All in all, the stay was excellent, would definitely stay here if we visit Koh Samui again (our trip was in a sense incomplete as bad weather meant we could not see Angthong or Koh Tao).

The Cosy Room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, clean with an excellent view and facilities. Staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Mantra is away from it all, meaning it is relaxing, but the beach is easily accessible by hotel shuttle or inexpensive taxi. Though the resort was fully booked, we always found space to lie around the beautiful pool. Although the hill is steep, and we are not young, we had no trouble negotiating it, however, golf cart-type vehicles are readily available for those who wish to be driven to their room. The hill, of course, allows for a sweeping view of the sea and islands from any room. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: We preferred the Cosy Room to the Wow Room. It was more spacious and closer to the pool and restaurant.
