Right from the minute we arrived we were provided with exceptional service by the incredibly friendly resort staff. We were on our honeymoon and were immediately upgraded without request. There was a minor problem with our first room and we were changed without question or drama! Fantastic views from rooms and the pool. A couple of minor problems are that there are not enough seats/lounges by the pool and that the hotel is right at the top of a hill which minimizes the potential to walk to the beach. The restaurant was comparatively expensive - but that is to be expected. Overall, we loved the place and would 100% recommend to others!

Room Tip: Higher floors enjoy greater views and avoid noise from internal foot and vehicle traffic.

Everything was fabulous. The staff, the ambience and the location. My husband & I stayed during our honeymoon. I would definitely say that I have never came across staff members who are so courteous. They made us feel like a royal couple. The serivce was excellent. The location and the views from the hotel were breathtaking but the best part was courteous staff . The cosy rooms are the best rooms overlooking the sea from a hill top. I could recall Max and Meena among staff members who provided excellent service to us. This is the best resort in its category that I have ever visited. I would highly recommend a stay here for anyone who is visiting koh Samui.

Room Tip: Book well in advance to avail offers and good rates.

My wife & I stayed here for one week in January 2013 in room 214. It was beyond our expectations. The place is ideal for couples, so peaceful. The 1 bedroom suite (Cosy Room) was spacious, quiet and separate from other rooms (no adjoining noise from other guests). The staff were all so nice, friendly & helpful. We would love to stay there again.

If you hire the scooter for 300 BAHT a day you have the independence to travel anyway at anytime as the only negative of the place is the transport to and from the hotel. They do have a free shuttle service at set times but I'd prefer a few more at night especially if you only want to have a quick dinner in the Fishing Village - we usually just ate in their restaurant which was great anyway, overlooking the ocean, the stars and moon.

We had a great stay at Mantra. Our love room was excellent. Clean & comfortable with all toiletries supplied. Our spa was brilliant. Massages were wonderful. Food was beautifully served. The Infinity pool and views were the best. Most of all the staff were very courteous and went out of their way to help. Two for one cocktail hour was fun at the swim up bar. Airconditioned shuttle service to and from resort at all times of the day was excellent. They even arrange to pick you up and take you back to the Airport. Only fault is people not allowing others to use lounges around pool. Putting their gear on them and going away for hours at a time just so they had a lounge when they came back.

Room Tip: No matter which room you choose all have excellent views although love rooms have their own spa.

I booked Mantra after a lot of hesitation as i felt sometimes people were asked to review on the stays. We went to the website looked at the rooms and even spoke to them before making the reservation for my Honeymoon stay and were recommended Love rooms.

Check in :We came around 9 Am and we had the Taxi waiting for us. The best part is we had a free pick and drop at Airport as we booked direct. My Name was spelled wrong though so it took me some time to find the person for pick up LOL. We were welcomed by Sai ( wonderful staff always smilling) with nice juice and a refreshing towel. We waited for 15 minutes and were taken to our room Love 164. The roads are steep so better to have a buggy all the time around or walk carefully and exercise ur self more. The resort also has a Gym which is good and also a playroom for fun. Their movie hall looked ok with a projector screen. We didnt use the squash and spa as we felt spa was damn expensive.

Rooms :The entrance on the 1st floor was wonderful and the Jacuzzi was ready for us and the room with sparkling wine and nice cake as requested. The rooms have huge TV with Internet ( Free) along with inbuilt movies. The Washrooms are pretty spacious and most importantly lighted perfectly. The rooms smelled good with nice oil being used and lighted with a lamp, just perfect!!! The beds were spacious and with smal LED lightings on the sides below the bed was also great. They also have the Soundmaking Dong ( thats what i call it) which is also really nice. In short the interiors decors were of good quality.

Pool : Not big but just about Ok. It needs to have an uplift considering its not a Beach resort. As mentioned by many people beach beds are just about not enough. The pool water though was maintained in a good temperature.

Restaurant : Breakfast - They have 1 of the best menus right from various spread of fruits, breads, cereals, eggss, hams and juices and tasty pancakes.in 1 word excellent. But however the lunch menu and the dinner menus are sad. Before booking we made it clear that we were Veg but were dissapointed with the Veg menu. We headed to the Fishermans village were we got better Veg food than here. Most of the times the Pizza machine was also not working so we had to go disspointed.Once we even got a sandwich which had a Ham on it when we had specifically mentioned Vegeterian grilled sandwich.

Service : I really have to go gove it to the Mantra team for their excellent service. Top Notch. Bee, Saee, Meena ( sorry if spelled wrong) and many more were just excellent. Thank you guys as you were all there whenever we wanted as we explored the island on our own with bikes as we felt it was really exciting. Good sign was people around there were ready to catch up with spoken english. Keep up the service guys.

Overall : Memorable experience with very comfortable stay and great people for service. You can stay at Love rooms or WOW ( in case of family) and perfect stay for the couples. In all we had a fun and memorable stay topped with a class service standards. Would suggest better places to eat at Bophut for Lunch and Dinner though.

Suggestion: Need to have a relook at the restaurant ( cant believe it closes at 11 & also more options) and the pool ( Mantra isnt a beach resort)

Room Tip: If people dont mind walking, pick rooms close to the ubunu restaurant to get the Best views. Would s...

We stayed for 2 weeks at Mantra Samui.. It was a memorable experience... The best part of the resort is the view to the sea.. They have rooms placed in such a manner that all the rooms are sea facing.. The staffs are very courteous and helpful.. The amenities at the resort are superb..

The Shuttle services which they provide to both bhoput and chaweng beach is very helpful..

Room Tip: For hoenymooners Love room is recomended..

We arrived at The Mantra Samui resort after 24 hours of travelling and had booked airport pick up. Its free if you book direct but as we booked through Expedia we had to pay.

We had booked a LOVE room for 5 nights and were allocated a room on the ground floor with no view - slightly disappointing. We spoke to the staff the next day and were given a room a bit higher up with a MUCH better view.

The room itself was beautiful and large. the Beds were comfy and the gong was a novelty. The bathroom was also great - they provide all the toiletries that you could need, even toothbrushes and toothpaste! With the hotel being on a hill, they also provide free shuttles in Golf buggies to your room to save you from walking.

On the first day the weather was not very good so we booked treatments at the spa. The treatments were lovely and I would recommend - although the prices are very steep if you compare them to Spa's outside the hotel - but it was convenient and a little treat!

The Hotel infinity pool was beautiful but I agree with other users, there are no where near enough beds to house all of the guests.

We took the free shuttle bus to Bophut almost every day. The beach is lovely and peaceful and there are lots of little bars and restaurants to visit. We found a lovely one right on the beach and the food was delicious and cheap. We dined at the Hotel restaurant a few times and again the food was good but very expensive compared to other places outside the hotel.

The hotel is so quiet in the evenings, even though it was fully booked! The bar lacks atmosphere, although the cocktails were pretty good. PK the bar tender was lovely. My favourite drink was the portstar - If you go you will have to try it! The bar closes about 11pm and being a young couple we wanted somewhere with a bit more going on! We took the free shuttle bus to Chewang a few nights. It would be good if they could provide a shuttle coming back at about 2am for the party goers although that might be a bit too much to ask for haha!

All in all the hotel surroundings were lovely and I would recommend this to older couples or people with small children who want a REALLY RELAXED holiday. I personally would have preferred to be a bit closer to the beach, bars and restaurant.

Room Tip: If you book direct you get free airport transferre and the best rates.
