My boyfriend and I went to this gem last night after we noticed it last Friday from doing the Fisherman's Village Friday Night Market. We had a liter of Sangria and it was fantastic! At about 600 baht, it was a bit pricey but pretty much everywhere in Fisherman's Village and around Samui is more expensive. We then had the stuffed peppers for appetizer and they were sooooo freaking delicious! Loved them. My boyfriend and I are die-hard mexican food lovers, so we normally order ya know, mexican food at a mexican restaurant ;). But this time, we ordered mexican food, but international style so to speak. We shared the Mexican Burger and the Mexican Pizza. And let me tell you - THEY WERE PHENOMENAL! The burger was like a mexican meatloaf formed into a juicy patty and served with great potato wedges. The pizza was basically everything on nachos, but spread onto a fried tortilla. It even had cilantro on it! Freaking delicious. We will definitely be back.

Our total was about 1100 baht or so.

Though english is not my native tounge, this warning is too important to be lost in google translation. We have come across quite a few indecent restaurants over the past two weeks. It seems these days, that who ever has got a pan and a pot will be hired as a chef, serving obviously indifferent tourists ? This mexican restaurant is no different, same same but even worse. As they rip you 340 baht for an appetizer sized main course, going straight from the deep freezer into the oven ( the plate was burning hot, the food not even luke warm ). We ordered Enchilladas with jalapenos and different meat fillings. What we had was flavourless wraps, with no hints of mexican spice besides the fresh coriander sprigs on top of the sour cream. More over, the Enchilladas were soaked in a substance not unlike warm, sweet Heinz ketchup...yummy. Being too nasty to eat, we put down knives and forks. "Too hot ?" a waitress asked. No, not tasty at all, and by now stone cold. She took our plates and walked by the manager, who got up and followed her to the kitchen. At this point we would expect him to approach us, as we were the only guests in the restaurant - and had sent our food back. No reaction what so ever, just heading back for his bar stool. Brillant. No wonder business is low. He just couldn't care less. Save your money and your appetite for anywhere else but The Mexican in Bo Phut.

Been going for years but now that the owner of the restaurant has left everything has fallen to shambles. My whole family is ill, I do not recommend the Mexican as a restaurant more like a death wish
