“Another place we would return to for our yearly Mother Daughter Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2011

Libby (25) and I loved this resort. We found the Hansar through a NYTimes article and when we arrived it exceeded our expectations. The most important factor for the success of our stay was the staff: The spa was wonderful and we saw the same massage therapists (hi Tip) for each treatment we had. They are lovely and very skilled massage therapists. Sam at the front desk made sure that our stay was the best, arranging and island tour. It was my birthday while there and between my daughter and all the staff, I had a great cake and wonderful version of Happy Birthday at breakfast. It rained while there but the happy smiles and warm dispositions made up for the rain.

I really enjoyed my stay there.. but there are a few kinks to be worked out which is to be expected considering they are new. I hope they haven't been damaged too badly by the flooding in ko samui right now. Hansar is a pricey hotel, but it *is beautiful.. and the breakfast is wonderful. problem is communicating with the staff.. even the front desk doesn't speak english or any of the 4 other languages my friend an i speak. that was disappointing.
there are some fun things near hansar that i found thru this article: http://macnchis.wordpress.com/2011/02/27/ko-samui-thailand-part-i/
hope it helps.
oh, btw, the sand is really rough there, so we hung by the pool.. an a norwegian dude got a nasty sting from a jelly fish. oddly, the town road runs between the pool and the beach.. would be nice if it went behind, where there's another road.. (passengers look onto the pool dwellers like it's a safari)

Staying here for our honeymoon in a sea view room, asides the weather, which is crap at the moment this is a very nice hotel, not too big, not too small, very modern and facilities are great, not the best gym but I'm not here to exercise...very short stroll to vibrant fisherman's village, plenty of restaurants and bars here.. If you are looking for a laid back holiday This is one of the best hotels in Samui, excellent value for money.. Highly recommend it, just book it, you won't be dissapointed.

We stayed four nights in Hansar Samui Resort in March 2011 and it was a great experience! In spite of the fact that we are rather “spoiled travelers” who are used to stay in very good hotels, we think that the Hansar Samui experience is in line with the best (and often much more expensive) hotels in the world. Also the Spa is great with a very nice team! So: Very well done for general Manager Supit and his team!

My boyfriend and I just had a fantastic week here. It was the perfect base to chill out and also get back to and totally relax after days out exploring the island.

Accomodation
All levels of room are lovely, spotlessly clean and designed and built to a very high standard. We stayed in a standard seaview room for 2 days and this was a high standard, good size with walk in shower and a decent balcony with day bed for 2 to chill out on. We then moved into the Beach Villa room for the final 5 days and this was, as you would expect, gorgeous and precisely as the pictures on the website show, including the petals in the bath!

Amenities
The infinity pool and the spa are by far the best amenities on the resort and are both fantastic.

Food
The food is top notch for dinner. The breakfast is pretty good though a bit limited and if you arrive after 9am the food seemed to start to run out or not be replenished quickly enough. We had a fantastic romantic dinner on the beach one evening which was amazing food and service and very good value for money. if you do this, just be aware that people will just wander past on the path and take your photo because it's pretty beautiful!

Service
The service at this hotel must be disassociated from the intentions of the staff. The staff in true Thai style are all lovely, extremely polite and in almost all cases seem very keen to please. Overall the service from the staff is still excellent. The service however is not yet five star, if your definition of five star is defined by other five star experiences in major cities around the world. We had a few niggles which meant I couldn't call it true 5* yet:

- Language was occasionally an issue that created unnecessary frustration when ordering or asking more than a simple question.

- Service at breakfast was generally miserably slow - learnt to expect tea or coffee to arrive by the time you've finished eating your breakfast.

- We were misallocated our room on arrival having payed for an XL Sea View we were initially put in a standard by mistake. After 2 nights we realised there were larger rooms!

However, the manager could not do enough to put this right and did so within 15 minutes of my raising the issue and she compensated us extremely well both with dinner, spa services and upgraded us to the Beach Villa which was superb and over and above what we'd paid for.

Overall
The place is great and as everyone else on here seems to agree, its definitely worth spending your cash here, you won't be disappointed.

Firstly, the unique concept used for the hotel decor shows a good blend of modern design with a touch of natural wooden materials. Second, is the spacious room layout. The entire bath area is combined seemlessly with the bedroom. If you are travelling with children, the room layout may be a little inconvenient for you because there is no door for anything. Thirdly, the pool is simply great. The location on the beach is the most important factor for us. Location at Fisherman Village was great too. Abundance of good restaurants and simple shopping available. The best of Hansar for me and my wife must be the FOOD in H Bistro. Try their Thai menu and you will not wish to eat anywhere else. If you are planning for a total quite and private stay, Hansar may not be most suitable because children will be running around pool area.

Awesome hotel with the best staffs. The hotel is located not only right by the beach with spectacular view from every room of the hotel, but also in the fisher man village which makes it vary convenient. The rooms are nice, cozy and nicely decorated. Comfortable daybed facing the breath taking view with an even more comfortable bed.....love it.

The food there is a "must". The best i've had on the hole island. The spa and the pool are also all so incredible. Great atmosphere and very relaxing.

The friendly and super helpful staffs makes our stay even more pleasant.
all in all, the best vacation ever...
thank you Hansar and all the staffs there.
