“Great Place To Stay”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

My wife and I stayed at The Samui Pier in early November last year.A very we'll run hotel by a superb very friendly 'hands on' owner.Staff were very friendly and great.
The Room was fine, very clean, loo and bathroom with good Air Con.The sea/ coast views are great.
Unfortunately the weather was somewhat rainy, not surprising for the time of the year.we thought that the food was a bit bland and a bit pricey,so were the drinks but having said this we dined there often.
We would certainly go back to The Samui Pier again.

Room Tip: Take a room to the 'middle' of the complex as you'll have a much better view out to sea.

In an island full of glitzy and pretentious resorts, The Samui Pier is just the opposite. While
extremely well maintained, it's not frilly in any way.
The resort is located right on the beach in quiet Bo Phut.Premises are beautiful, plenty of hammocks and bamboo canopied beds, manicured lawns, coconut trees. And a pool, of course.
Rooms are big and comfortable, staff is just amazing. The owner is ALWAYS there, making sure you have everything you need.
The family suite has 2 rooms, 2 baths and a kitchen with a small dining set, plates, silverware, fridge and microwave oven).
In terms of location, it's about a 7 minute drive from the airport, 10 minutes from Chaweng, 2 minutes from the Fishermen's Village. The ferry to Koh Pangan is right next door. We rented a small car and got around no problem.
We loved our stay here. Shall absolutely come back.

The location is great, staff were friendly, but the rooms are not upto standard. the a/c was leaking, the toilets were not functioning. food were over priced. the beach was great, great location though and you must try the massage parlour in the same building facing the road it was awesome, its not part of the hotel, but that's the only that we didn't regret staying at this place.

We stayed here at the start of our trip in Thailand. The area pulling up doesn't look the best but a cab down to the more popular locations on the island is around 150baht.

The staff go above and beyond and provide 5* service. The weather wasn't the best when we were there but the staff were very quick to respond and help you into the dry! They are also good at helping with trips and transport to the other islands (koh parang and koh tao)

Would recommend this place again and again! A quiet spot on the beach. The Thai food available was to a very high standard: they also do western food which is also good (however would avoid pizza)

We needed a room for the night between landing and setting off on the ferry to Koh Tao. Basically, the Samui Pier Resort did exactly what it said on the tin. The room was large, clean and more than sufficient for a night.

The shower could have been a little more powerful, but we suspect that the water pressure on the island was generally low and so not something specific to this hotel.

The best part - the lovely South African at reception!

Beautiful place to stay. The view will take your breath away. The peace and calm of the place adds to its charm. The owner is jovial and courteous and adds a special touch to the place. The staff is amazing with the service. It serves delicious food and the cook caters to special demands also. The resort is very well kept with beautiful little huts with cushions for guests to enjoy the breeze. This place has magnificent breeze and the most well kept beach. There is something very serene about catching glimpses of life at sea on one side and seeing the Big Buddha statue on the other. The family room is amazing with a fridge, microwave, dinner table with cutlery, and two very spacious rooms with attached bathrooms. Definitely worth staying!

What a find this was. We booked through Agoda after a lot of searching and cross referencing. We decided to pay a little more for a deluxe room - but it only came to £35 a night. On arrival we were very impressed - the gardens are very well kept, and they have hammocks which is a lovely touch. There are also garden swings overlooking the beach. Our room exceeded our expectations - we had a little kitchen (fridge, freezer, microwave) and an amazing bathroom. Everything was clean and worked just fine. We found the staff very friendly and eager to share their knowledge of Samui - from their recommendations we ended up at the Jungle Club and the Secret Garden. The area itself has some really great cheap local restaurants - we ate at these places most of the time. The cafe just opposite (I think it called itself the Coffee Cup) did a great massaman curry for about 80 Baht. Asides from the restaurants, the area is a little remote in that you can't walk to many things - you can just about walk to the Fisherman's village, but that's about it. We rented a moped from the shop right next to the hotel (200B for 24 hours) and this worked very well. We saw the whole island during our trip, and the hotel were helpful in organizing trips to Koh Tao and Anthong for us.
Overall - this was a great place to stay as a couple. If you're looking for a honeymoon destination in Koh Samui - you couldn't go far wrong with Samui Pier.
