Great rooms, average location

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 8, 2012
Stayed here in July 2012 for 3 nights

Rooms: The rooms were very well appointed and modern. By far the most "western style" rooms I stayed in on the islands. Comfortable beds, large well appointed bedroom and washroom, hot showers.

Location: The location here isn't bad, a short hike into the main party area of Chaweng. It tends to be quite a bit quieter in this area than in the busier parts of town. It's about 100-150 bht to get a ride into Chaweng.

Amenities: There is a pool although it is quite small. The beach here isn't as nice as other resorts, and being the "Pier" resort it is quite near a pier. The view of the sunset from this hotel is quite nice. The hotel restaurant is good although a bit on the pricy side. There is a phenomenal restaurant next door (Turn left when you walk out) that is owned by an Australian guy.

Staff: The staff were very kind, they helped us book our ride to the ferry and were extremely helpful. Everyone seemed concerned with our well-being and enjoyment.

Overall: The location here is good if you're looking for something a bit quieter. If you came for the pool or the beach I'd stay away, the pool was small and beach wasn't the nicest. The rooms are very nice and offer a more western style (Almost like a Holiday Inn or Best Western). I see a lot of other reviewers used it as a jumping off point to the FMP. I can't comment since I stayed on Phangan for the party proper.
Date of stay: July 2012
Room Tip: The second floor room furthest from the front desk has a great balcony and view of the sunset.

I can't heap enough praise on this place, we booked pretty last minuite as we left it too late to book somewhere on koh phangan for the full moon party, but am I glad we did, it's a real little gem! The owner Yaniv was a great host, booking us a speedboat from the pier directly adjacent to the hotel over to the party and our onward travel to phuket, he even called our hotel on phuket to see if they would pick us up at the bus station when we arrived there!! The rooms are clean, comfy (if you don't like a hard bed then be aware) but I love them so it was great and the food is very nice and simple. This place fulfilled everything we were looking for in a hotel for this situation!! Many thanks to Yaniv and his team for a wonderful stay!!

Great location and great service, the staff were very friendly and Yan the owner is most helpfull and knowledgeable of any activities on the island. We saw a few resorts on the island and this one was voted tops by everybody. For sheer convenience - everything is literally on your doorstep, beaches, pool, restaurants and bars - without being too crowded as in some parts of the island - for our group it was definitelly the winner on the island. Well done Samui Pier for a great experience.

Room tip: Try the beachfront rooms

Perfect location for the traveler going to Koh Phangan. If you need to stay one night in Koh Samui and catch the ferry in the morning, you have come to the right place. Just next door to the pier you can get a really nice room and spend your last night before entering a more simple accommodation on Koh Phangan. The location of Samui Pier is also great if you want to spend a night with some fine dining. There's a lot of really good restaurants nearby and one tip is to pick up the free dining guide supplied in the reception.

We stayed for one week, a family and friends group of 14 people, great location, 10 minutes from the airport, ocean on one side and street front on the other, not noisy extremely convenient, great pricing and many local establishment even more cost effective. Small but cozy pool made for great family fun and local knowledge of owner operator, Yan, was superb., Highly recommend this over many or the places down the coast e.g. Lamai.

Room tip: Ocean Front family room was our choice, worked well. All single story, small resort so all staff become known to you.

This place is absolutely stunning. My room was the deluxe beach front room and it was literally 2 metres from the beach. All the staff are amazing and felt more like friends when we left, Ton, Pom, John and Saw will be sorely missed. Do yourself a favour...look no further, book this place. You wont regret it.
