“Good resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Overall had an enjoyable stay here. We had a lotus pool villa which has the biggest private pool I have ever seen in any resort. The room was huge but needed a refurbishment. The bathroom was also huge with an outdoor shower and an indoor shower. The main pool was phenomenal with the stunning views and lounge music playing all day. Service at the pool was good but no food available at the pool after 5 PM. The resort is located on a hill at one end of Choeng Mon beach and all the shacks are a 5 minute walk along the beach. The beach is fantastic with very few people and shallow water. The Since the resort is on a hill, getting up to the rooms can be quite a task, especially after a few drinks. There are a couple of golf carts but there can be a wait involved. On one occasion, we had to wait 10 minutes. Breakfast was ok. The buffet dinners were not good at all. The food was cold and unappetizing. During our dinner at 9:40 PM all the waiters left and the manager had to wait on us. Overall, great place to stay if you like hanging around the pool. Some nice restaurants outside the resort but at least 5 minutes by scooter or a 15 minute uphill walk. The Indian restaurant is horrible and so is the upper pool.

Room Tip: Lotus Pool Villa

I purchased a Scoopon for this property and we stayed here for 5 nights in May 2013. I read a heap of reviews and was very nervous about staying here as the reviews were pretty bad.

I will say that the location is great and Cheongmong is a great place to stay, but that is pretty much it.

We must have been put into the smallest, dingiest room in the whole resort, right up the top near the top pool opposite the Indian Restaurant. The top pool was in need of maintenance, we had to pull ourselves out of the pool at the sides as the pool ladders moved so much it felt like they were going to come off when used. There was a bar near the pool which was great, but was only manned 1 night we were there so you couldn't sit near the pool and have a drink. Also, they wouldn't charge anything back to the room so we had to carry money everywhere we went in the resort.

We ate at the Indian restaurant 1 night, food was good but service was pretty bad - my husband was falling asleep waiting for the food.

Our room didn't have a proper shower, just a hand held one that retracted into the bath, so we had to take turns holding the shower head for each other when we showered. One night we thought someone had broken into our room, but it turned out that about 10 tiles on the basin surround had just fallen off onto the bathroom floor. We picked them up and put them near the basin, they were still there the day we left so good housekeeping!!! NOT!

The air conditioner was good which was something I suppose.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel, that was pretty good and we never went to the main pool at all.

There was a customer service representative there called Peter (not sure if he was Absolute or not but he didn't try to sell it to us so maybe not?) who was very helpful. He helped us hire a bike when the shop on site had run out so we really appreciated this.

The beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever experienced in our travel history - shocking.

All in all, it was not a very good experience and I definitely will not be returning to the Q Signature Resort.

We stayed in two private pool villas for an extended family holiday following another family member's wedding on a nearby Bophut beach. We had not originally chosen the Q Signature as our Koh Samui accommodation, but following a day before departure cancellation by our booked accommodation we secured a booking with them - our cause was possibly helped by the fact it was low season. Staff were helpful - with a special mention to the Guest Relations Officer, Carrie Ann "Princess" Banang who had quite a bit of work to do when one of our pools turned green - however with some two-way liaison the issue was rectified with even the Chief Engineer becoming involved at one point. I agree with other reviews re the breakfast...........lots of choices but 95 percent the same menu each and every day!

Room Tip: We preferred the view from Villa 805 over our other one Villa 804, but Villa 804 had a larger outdoo...

After reading the trip advisor reviews I made sure to request an ocean view room close to reception for my wife and i.
What a difference it would've made to have to go up to the higher sections of the resort daily.

We stayed for 6 nights.
The resort is beautifully located on the beach(Chaeng Mon) and is so picturesque. The buffet breakfast had sufficient variety.

The one let down was the air conditioning in the rooms which take long to be effective, it does make a difference in such a humid place.
One also gets a more cultural experience in Koh Samui than eg Phuket or Bangkok. This is due to the wonderful people of the island.

I was surprised and impressed that booking tours through the hotel was the same price as outside the hotel. Also it's actually cheaper to have suits and clothing made at the hotel than Bangkok, who would've thought.

The restaurant food and pool drinks are way to expensive especially considering the vast array of restaurants and bars on the main road just 3 minutes away.
We used a scooter to get around and really got to experience the fullness of the island, Chaweng beach is a 12 minute ride away where all the hustle and bustle is.

The general odour in Koh Samui is also definitely better than in Bangkok.

1 tip, make an effort to learn a little Thai as it goes a long way for the locals and they go all out to ensure you get the best out of your trip, price wise and experience wise.

My wife and I were so sad to leave as we felt so connected with the island and it's people.

We spend a week at this resort. Great staff and fantastic location. It is worth a visit.
Breakfast was good with a reasonable variety, but there was virtually no variation in the offering during the week that we stayed there. We had a buffet dinner the first night. It was ok but certainly not worth the BHT 1800+( for 2) that we were charged for it. Cocktails at the pool is also a ripoff at around BHT 250 each.
The place need some TLC but everything is in good working order. Just well used.

We booked this place through DAE live so only had to pay $161 for the timeshare exchange for 7 nights. It worked out to only $20 per night so I can't complain with the price but I would not pay anymore than that. The resort is actually not that bad, in a great location with access to a good beach however the staff have allowed it to become degraded. Our room was filthy, the shower didn't look like it had been scrubbed in months. The beds were comfy but the room needs some serious cleaning and a coat of paint. House cleaning was atrocious, when the lady could be bothered doing the dishes she would pick up my dirty towel off the bathroom floor, fold it onto the bench then place the rinsed (not washed) dishes on top of the towel. The top pool at the hotel was filthy, restaurant prices were expensive. Its a shame that staff have allowed it to get to this condition as it has the potential to be a very lovely place.

Room Tip: Higher floors have sea view. Would prefer to stay close to reception otherwise its a bit of a hike u...

We just spend ten days here and had a lovely time. Thank goodness for the golf cart to take you up the steep hills (you can call reception and they will fetch you as well). We used both the pools extensively. We had a facial and a massage at the spa - all thought is double the price of doing it in the main road - the staff were friendly and welcoming and the treatments lovely.
We booked several excursions through the travel desk and had some amazing experiences.
Our room had a 2 plate stove, microwave and fridge but no pots or pans, dishcloths or cooking implements. So not very useful at all.
There is free internet in the lobby - but I prefer connecting from my room. You have to pay per device and the internet is very flaky. Some days I re-entered my password 10 times.

Over all the staff are a pleasure, the pools are lovely and its a great resort for a soak up the sun rest.
