It looks a bit like a museum but the whole hotel feels very tired and well past its good times.

The room was the problem - the walls were dirty and so was the bedside lamp. The power point at the only place where one could use a laptop was broken!!! The breakfast buffet was very average compared to others we have enjoyed.
Overall just for a one night stay and just to sleep here is OK but I am susre there are better places in Patchabun.

This is the best hotel in Phetchabun, situated near the motorway on the left site when you enter Phetchabun. The hotel is about 500 meters from the motorway in a quiet area. The reception and other areas, are like a museum with collector's items from everywhere to everything. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is even an international TV channel on the TV in the room. Great value for money.

Room tip: All rooms are good, but for super splurge who can afford it book a suite.

Stayed in a suite room, probably a four to five star hotel for Thais, but about a three to three and half for westerners. Very popular for Thai conferences. I think the best option in Phetch.
Kosit Music Hall out the back has live bands starting at 10pm, Thai rock. For a more thai pop feel go to Burapa Hotel.
on a corner in the CBD I had the best kao ka moo i have ever eaten in Thailand.

I've stayed here several times and each time it seems to get better. The staff and service are top class with English speaking staff on hand in case of any difficulties. The hotel is stuffed full of fascinating knick-knacks in glass fronted show cases, all over the hotel, from reception and on upwards to all floors. These include such oddities as old mobile phones, toys, perfume bottles, valuable Thai porcelain, medallions, coins and much else besides. The hotel itself is in the traditional Lanna style with much teak wood in evidence. It is popular with Thai families too as it has a super clean swimming pool with coffee/ice cream bar on hand.
In the evening - every night it seems - there is a separately housed dance club full of local youngsters having the time of their lives. Do go and join in. No entrance fee and lots of cheap drinks available! You may be the only foreigners there but you will receive lots of those lovely Thai smiles and some may even try their English on you!
Breakfast is included in the cost of the rooms and there is a simple American / European choice on offer. Ask for alternative eggs how you like them as the fried ones in the warming dish tend to be a bit dry and not very hot! The staff will oblige although sign language may be needed!
Lunch and dinner menus offer good Western fare as well as popular Thai dishes in the well appointed dining room or delivered to your room. Again, all very reasonably priced. Wine tends to be rather expensive, but this is normal for Thailand. We did manage to secure a reasonable Californian red for THB515 (about £11 or $18) which was good for Thailand.
The rooms are a good size, well equipped, with free Wi-Fi and BBC World news the single English channel on the large TV.
The showers are hot and strong. Free soap and conditioning shampoos provided. No coffee/tea making facilities in room, but as there is prompt rooms service from 6am to 1am this is not a big issue. As there is also no safe in the room you have to leave valuables with reception or carry with you.

Room tip: Upper floors offer best views of mountains, overlooking the pool.
