“"Great place... love their pastelillos"...”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

If you love "pastelillos" (12'' deep fried shells) this is your place. It will be a long drive if you come from San Juan, its best if you are staying in the southern part of the Island to give it a try, otherwise it will be like a 2 hour drive.

Its located in Guayama, and from it you can see the Caribbean Sea. It has several places where you can sit and enjoy the view. It's an outdoor business, there is no AC. It's very popular, and its often full of customers, you can easily wait for 15 to 25 minutes. But its worth the wait. I asked for an alcapurria for a friend and a 12'' pastelillo of cheese and ground beef for me. There are 25 types of pastelillos including seafood, crocodile, conch meat, octopus, corned beef, and others. They have mofongos, meat, soups and salads. The prices of the pastelillos go from $3.50 to $5.95. They are great. I've haven't visited in a while due to the distance, but it's definitely a great place to go if you are in the area.

If you don't want to wait, you can buy 1/2 dozen or a dozen box of frozen pastelillos for a cheap price and just deep fry them at home.

If you want further information on the menu and other entrees other than the Pastelillos you can visit the website or open the pdf document included here...

“Ocean View and Food - Stunning. Stray Animals and Litter - Not.”
Reviewed March 25, 2012

On PR's south shore, off the beaten path, but for great views, drive down the east coast to get to Guayama. Like many other facilities serving the public in Puerto Rico, LCDLP needs more staff. It's magical: on a beach, hammocks provided (kids love 'em), lots of picnic tables, good service. It's a foodstand; place your order, get a number, find a seat overlooking the Caribbean Sea, wait to be called. The "pastelillos" are foot-long deep-fried shells (like Hot Pockets on steroids) filled with anything from ground beef to crocodile! The "mofongo" is good, too. VERY popular Sundays. BUT -- unlike past visits, trash has accumulated around tables and mangy cats roam free. HEY! You got a great restaurant here! Don't let the litter and strays ruin it. Combined with the east-coast panorama, definitely worth the 2-3 hour drive.

“hard to find but great experience”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

this place is sworn by by the locals and its obvious when you walk in. if Pastelillos are your cup of tea(which they are mine) then this is your place. they have everything from fish to shark pastelillo. This place is set right on the ocean and you can actually walk in the water if you like. i recommend this place but its a little tricky to find.

Pure culinary. If your in the area or just passing by its a must. Extremely popular with the locals. Weekends its get there earlier and still stand on line. Wait time can be 20 to 45 minutes but you can sit down and enjoy the Caribbean ocean view while you have a cocktail or brew. Beach is not for bathing but relaxing none the less. If I'm in the area on a week day or not in a rush there's no doubt I'm having lunch here...
