Stayed here as a couple end of September 2013. We arrived fairly late in the evening and were tired after travelling all day but the check in process was quick and our cases taken to our bungalow. There was a cold buffet available and still time for us to have a relaxing drink!! We both said if the rest of the holiday goes as smoothly as that first evening we would be pleased. We were not disappointed.....the hotel itself is nicely laid out, beautiful scenery, relaxing pool areas. The food is excellent, always hot and plenty to choose from, everywhere is spotlessly clean and tidy. The hotel staff are brilliant, helpful and friendly, this includes everyone from management to the wonderful ladies who clean the rooms. Can honestly say we didnt come across one member of staff who wasnt helpful. Yes the hotel is in a quiet location and to reach the next town would mean a bus or a taxi but we didnt find this a problem as everything we needed was on site at the hotel. All in all, a wonderful holiday in a fantastic, well run, clean hotel. What more could anyone ask for???? Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had a sea view bungalow which was lovely and quiet, we were told the rooms in the main hotel were...

Just returned from 14 nights , as i say hard to fault from food to drink , entertainment team cleaners , gardeners, room all very good , we will return . One thing i will say is that i have checked prices for next year and i think the secret is out , the prices have gone up quite considerably from what we payed this year , but then again i still think well worth the money.

My partner and I were well overdue a holiday abroad and with busy work schedules, we wanted to stay somewhere that we could totally relax.

We chose Crete as either of us had been, and I did my usual earmarked hotels what we were looking for, and read them all on Trip Advisor, and Creta Panorama came out on top. We booked our holiday through Thomas Cook, and we flew from London Gatwick for convenience.

Our flight (to and from) was evening, and we arrived at the hotel around 11pm, and it took some time to check in, as the hotel asked to complete a check-in booking form?? This took an extra half hour. We eventually got to our room, which was hot and stuffy due to the warm weather. The room was basic, and the bathroom was OK on first impressions, although the shower head needed replacing badly. We did have a balcony that overlooked the front of the hotel. Please note, although there is a fridge in the room, there is no tea and coffee facilities to make a drink in the room. Both myself and my partner missed our cuppa in bed in the morning.

We decided to go in search of the midnight snack bar as we were told it was been served in the restaurant. The food been on offered was very basic and not very appealing but it at least stopped our hunger pangs.

In the morning (we are early risers) we were able to go and explore the hotel complex until the restaurant opened for breakfast (in fact we did this every morning and it was lovely – even on the one day that it was cold, windy and rainy). The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We came across three WW2 towers (not accessible) and an anti-tank gun, with a memorable grave stone referencing the war, which we found unusual to find in a hotel complex. We found several swimming pools, and all well-kept too. Plenty of sun-loungers scattered around the grounds, and around the pools (please note beach towels are free - but if you loose your beach towel during your stay they will charge you about 19€. We used ours only once - I am not aware of the charges to use the sun loungers in the coves as the weather was not warm enough to make us to venture that way). We preferred relaxing in the gardens as the view across the sea to the mountains was always stunning. We noted that the complex consisted of 3 hotels (all owned by Iberostar), and so you could mistakenly believe that you remained in your same hotel complex. There is a small harbor that allows for water sports, which is an extra cost I believe if you wanted to experience any of the rides. We also noted there are 3 cats that live in the grounds – wild, we expected. The female tabby cat befriended us. As we both cat lovers, we enjoyed her company.

Although the hotel is very clean and tidy (please be aware, the lobby and reception area is marbled, and the cleaners who mop the floor every morning do not put out warning signs that the floors are wet. I nearly fell over several times, and if I had, it most likely hurt a lot). The place a little dated in areas of the hotel (the toilet areas need a lot of updating) and the lounge bar area is not very appealing in its decor, which could do with a cheerful colour scheme. There are definitely not enough chairs for people to sit on in there for the size of the hotel.

The restaurant again is fine, and food plentiful, although some of the food to us was bland. We mostly enjoy the variety of fruit and salads during lunch and dinner. Breakfast was a good variety, although the freshly squeezed orange juice was an extra price, even to those on AI basis. Tables get filled very quickly and we noticed very quickly the best thing to do is get your drink first, and then find a table to put them on. This guarantees your table, and you can then go freely to get your food.

The bar, restaurant and the cleaning staff were always smiling, polite and helpful, which it was a shame it didn’t translate into the reception staff.

There are some notices in the hotel lobby about activities, and bar opening times etc, but no map to know where these places are. Even with our morning walks we did not find half of the places advertised.

We understand the hotel closes down in the Winter months, which we perhaps we understood why the day it rained as it obviously relies on the warm sunny weather. As the hotel is quite isolated, you would need to take the bus or walk about 45 mins to the nearest village or town. The hotel lobby bar was forced to open from lunchtime, and we felt sorry for the lady serving the drinks as it was obvious they did not employ sufficient staff during the day as there was no-one to assist her with the amount of people who were demanding drinks. As far we could see the hotel did not lay on any other entertainment until its scheduled time, so I presume most people stayed in their rooms, or went out on organised day trips. We decided to trek to the nearest village (Panorama) to stop us going insane from the boredom (the Wi-Fi we had to purchase was useless, and the TV channels were all aimed mostly at the German guests), and we glad we did, as we found the village very charming, and decided to have our supper there too, which was a lovely change to the hotel food.

We felt the hotel lacked the four star quality but saying that we did enjoy some of our hotel stay there. Would we choose to go again? Most likely not as we have decided we would much prefer a smaller hotel in walkable distance of a town or a village. This hotel would suit family groups who perhaps did not want to venture to far from the hotel complex.

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for the time you spent to share your personal impressions on your recent stay at our IBEROSTAR Creta Panorama hotel. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide to our valued guests.

We read your review with our utmost attention and first would like to point out that, like in any other hotel, identity forms have to be filled in order to register our guests in our systems for security reasons; moreover we lament not being informed about the imperfection you found in your bathroom as we would have been able to intervene immediately thanks to our maintenance department onsite; please do not hesitate for any future occasion, to contact our reception for anything you may need to fully enjoy your holiday among us.

Further we are sorry to read that apparently you were not properly informed about the room amenities and would like to point out that we do not offer coffee or tea facilities in the rooms as duly reported both on our brochure and website, our guests in All Inclusive being able to order cold or hot drinks throughout the day from early morning until midnight in our hotel’s bars.

We also are surprised to read your comment on the lack of entertainment during the day as our animation team offers a wide variety of leisure and sports activities throughout the day as well as entertaining evening shows for the amusement of our guests, for your information the daytime activities usually take place by the main pool.

On the other hand, we thank you for your praising comments on our hotel grounds, we are glad that you could enjoy the beauty of our outdoor areas and our well-kept gardens.

Last but not least, we also appreciate your kind words towards our bar, waiting and cleaning staff, their kindness and helpfulness being our hotel's main strength we will definitely congratulate them all on your behalf for their contribution to your wellbeing whilst staying among us.

Once more, thank you for your visit; we hope that you had a pleasant journey back home and would be enchanted to welcome you again in our IBEROSTAR hotels in the most beautiful destinations worldwide.

The title of my last review of this hotel was "If you are going to Crete stay here" and I have not changed my mind.
The hotel is superbly managed with a really hardworking and conscientious staff. The food is very good indeed with a huge variety to choose from. The grounds are extensive and the sea was safe to swim in with lifeguards at peak times.
We last visited in october 2011 and have just been back for a wonderful two weeks. The weather was very good with only a couple of cool days. I would certainly recommend this hotel to any nationality at any time.
I rarely give an excellent rating and to this hotel I have given two!

We had a great time on all-inclusive. Masses of choice to eat and well cooked too. Yes the hotel is quite a distance from the nearest town, but the facilities on site were so good, we did not feel like venturing away from them. The 'animation' entertainment team were terrific. Tony, a young Bulgarian was so kind, patient, and amusing with our efforts at shooting, archery etc. He and the rest of the team staged the most energetic self-choreographed music and dancing in the evening theatre performances. Their can-can was amazing. The management should quickly sign them all up for next year.

We have been to many of these hotels on a half board basis and this was the best.

The food each day was excellent, especially the breakfasts with a great range of fresh fruit and produce. I especially liked the pick and mix omelette with Mairi being the best maker! The maître d' was outstanding and he looked the part, polite and so efficient, He ran a very good team.

I loved the dinners and there was a great fish choice every evening.

There were some issues. We found the bed to be small in our room and it was hard against one wall so access from only one side. (2313) but on reporting it we were offered another room, we decided to stay and make the most of it. The outside light was not working but when reported it was fixed immediately. The key is that if there are issues then they ought to be reported and they will be dealt with.

We found the staff to be polite and very helpful. At 9 Euros for a week, the internet was fairly priced and worked well.

We loved the pools, not so happy at the 4 Euros charged for beach sun loungers, not sure how this can be justified for guests.

At the end of the day life is never perfect. This was a good hotel and we hope to return again and look forward to a bigger bed.

This is my last night at creta panorama so I thought I would do a review now ..
On arrival reception - young girl was very helpful and tried her best to please us, we didn't want to leave our cases for the porter as our room was in the main building so she came with us to show us where our room was ... Room ok but the bathroom old & dated! Double room but two single matress also very hard! But we asked for matress topper however we did have to re ask after 2 hrs of waiting which then we came across the rude reception girl & yes she was rude !
Food - can't fault it plenty to choose from just slightly different everyday , sometimes slow on topping up but over all good ....(.I also have a knee injury which I was unable to walk on over done it the night before ) no problem I had food brought up to my room - thank you !
Lobby Bar - fab, if you had the same drink all night the staff would have another ready for you without asking .
Grounds pools - lovely great views of the sea, all pool areas clean plenty sunbeds anytime of the day, cove is great for snorkel fish bite ya feet when you go for a paddle, it is a shingle rocky beach I suggest you get some diver shoes to wear .. I always wear jellies shoes in the sea ..only down side you have to pay for sunbeds which is a bit naughty when you're AI & private cove but saying that we went after 3 pm & didn't pay .
Entertainment was ok but more staff would be better, but very good at what they do very friendly .
There is a shop on site but is dearer than the one 10 mins walk outside hotel but that is all there is outside ! You can get bus into town which is 2€ or23€ in taxi ..
I was also attacted by mosquito !! Bring a plug in for ya room ! & creams ! Internet 9€ for the week some areas have better signal & of course depends time of day I'm now in my room using it ! Safes19€ for week think this is naughty for AI 4*+ hotel.
Overall I've loved it great relaxing holiday didn't do any excursions cos of my knee, rep not that great bit of a let down for first choice ! Always saw him eating but never where he should be not much help! Also no folder saying about the island I had to look at Thomas Cook book !
