Just come back this morning, what an amazing hotel, clean, very spacious, beautifully maintained and lush gardens. Hard working professional staff who are so efficient and happy to help. This hotel really makes you feel welcome and important. Great food choice, freshly prepared, never ran out, lovely speciality dishes, we planned to go out for an evening meal before we went on holiday as all inclusives can get repetetive, but we didn`t feel the need to go. Great choice of drinks, cocktails, cold drinks, coffees and teas. Very professionally run. We stayed in a sea view bungalow, very nice, great maid service. You don`t have to take beach towels as the animation team have a hut where you can get them daily. Hotel lobby relaxing if you want to escape the sun for a while. Really can`t fault this hotel or the staff. ..and yes animation team are amazing, all hard working, talented, professional with bags of enthusiasm, always energetic and smiling....... great shows, great people.......you will not be disappointed and because of a great experience, you will even be able to overlook some of the arrogant and aggressive Russians who think they own everywhere they go. If you haven`t booked then go all inclusive, it`s best value and well worth it. The little train trip to Margarites Monastery and Melidoni Caves well worth doing, pick up and drop off at hotel. Take your snorkel and mask for some great snorkelling in the sheltered coves, don`t venture beyond the safety markers the sea currents are very strong. There is a small shop on site and a small supermarket 15 mins walk away, other than that the resort is on it`s own, but you can get the bus to the busy town of Rethymnon if you want to do some shopping. There is a courteousy shower room with fresh towels and hairdryer for once you have checked out at mid-day and have a later flight. Take extra money for wi-fi and safe, there are pc`s you can use in reception for 2 euros for 30 mins, there is also a luggage weigh machine, 1 euro a go, jewellers and a small boutique. Spa/ gym and hairdressers as well. Big hotel with lots of people but doesn`t feel hustly and bustly as so much space. The little touches and extra things they do make it special..... you will not be disappointed !

returned on 10/09/13,went just for a short notice break with another couple of friends and really enjoyed it.hotel services & staff were brilliant.although hotel was fully booked its such a large complex it never seemed to be really busy, food is buffet style but allways a large choice to choose from and allways good.animation team werereally good and worked very hard to keep you entertained.rooms were spotlessley clean and well maintained.one let down however is a certain holiday maker who i guess have only just started to travel from their own country, they just need to realise you dont need to fill your plates till its overflowing and stock up with spare plates of everything on offer, all in all we would really recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: All the people we spoke seemed to be happy with there rooms,

Travelled as a group of 8 in late August - myself & partner (40's), my parents (70's), my daughter & her boyfriend (20's) my daughter & her friend ( 17). We had 4 rooms all on the 5th floor ( which was actually the 4th - I know as I climbed them often, fear of lifts!), All rooms were spacious with double beds & extra large sofa plus balcony area. Views from the rooms were good - 2 overlooked pool & gardens the other 2 overlooked the front of the hotel. The only negative would be the bathroom - could do with some updating. The gardens are beautiful & setting idyllic.
We got up late the next day so found sun loungers on the grass area. we didn't have a problem finding 8 we just had to walk around a bit. It was lovely as there was a nice breeze & the view was wonderful. After that we did manage to find loungers around the Mare area pool - although it did mean waking early.....7.15 ...which was later than the main pool - usually all beds were taken there by the time we got up. There are a number of pools but they are all salt water - we found these to be pretty unpleasant - awful taste & stinging eyes but supposedly good for the skin! Not for us I'm afraid!!
The food was plentiful & even the fussy ones in the group managed to feed themselves for 10 days! Breakfast and lunch went down better than dinner. More choices earlier in the day. Every night there was a special corner & usually a themed night. The a la carte was over in the pool bar which seemed a bit odd as this was more of a canteen - admittedly we didn't try it & the tables did look nice. Once a week the hotel did a specials night - Greek night & beach party were advertised whilst we there but at an extra cost. Again we didn't go but heard the beach party was fun. Not sure it was worth the extra cost though........
The red wine was served cold in all bars - self service in the restaurant for wine, beer & water, but why do they think red wine needs to be cold? Different cocktails every night in the bars.
I would say that although there are plenty of bars around if you are in the main hotel during the day there is nowhere to get a drink when the restaurant is closed - not even a water cooler anywhere in sight! You get a bottle of water on arrival then have to fill up from the water coolers around the hotel.
Now to the entertainment...............well they surpassed themselves here! Fantastic crew made up of Dutch, Italian ( Georgia " I love my job"), Bulgarian ( Tony Macaroni is Norman Wisdom!) and even your local scouser, Aaron!! They have loads to do during the day but are never in your face - if you want to join in they welcome you with open arms - if you don't they leave with a friendly wave. The all work hard & make sure everyone has a fab holiday.
The hotel is remote there is a 20 min walk to a supermarket but no bars. The little "noddy" train is 2 euros each way which takes you to Panormos fishing village - few bars & restaurants with a few shops. Nice little place to fritter away a few hours.....
We caught the bus into Rethymnon 2 euros each - the old town is quaint , cobbled streets which meander here & there but always lead you back to the gelato shop!! Loads of different flavours including twix flavour..... We walked around the harbour area & saw lobsters being chosen for evening meals but this was more trendy bars with the trendy expensive prices.
Overall we had a pleasant holiday & everyone enjoyed themselves. Not sure we would return as slightly too remote & the salt water pools. We did hear whilst we were there, that this hotel has been bought by Russians & will be transformed ( whatever that means!) in the next couple of years.........

Stayed at Iberostar Creta Panorama 21-31 August - 3 adults & 1 child (11). This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. We stayed in bungalows with a sea view. The bungalows were lovely and clean and are set within beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the sea. The food at the hotel is buffet style but there is plenty of choice, there is show cooking and the food is varied. The hotel is in a remote location although you can get the little train into Panormos for €6 which is worth a trip as it is exceptionally pretty, We also got a bus into Rethymnon for €2. What makes this hotel so special is the animation team (especially Simone, Mauro, Francesco, & Aaron) I cannot praise them enough. They work so hard throughout the day & evening offering daytime activities for both children & adults and then put on a fantastic theatre show each evening. They are so entertaining and just make your holiday fun. They are simply the best! Highly recommend this hotel. This was our best holiday ever and would love to return.

We spent 11 nights here with our 17yr old son and his girlfriend. This is the fourth time we have stayed here and were slightly dissappointed after previous years. Whilst our rooms in the main hotel were immaculate, we previously stayed in the bungalows, the communual areas were not as clean as we remembered. The toilets were usually dirty, the showground toiltes being broken for the whole of our stay. Food on the floor in the restaurant and pool snack bar not cleaned up promptly. The charge of 2 euros for fresh orange juice is new, especially since there is an abundance of oranges. On previous stays soft drinks were available on tap, now you have to wait to be served. My main gripe is the sunbed situation, previously you could not reserve sunbeds before 8am, this year people putting towels on that at 5am and going back to bed. Then the Russians remove them and move the sunbeds..There was actually a physical fight while we were there because of this problem, which was extremely upsetting as there was small children watching. As in previous years the animation team are incredible particularly Simone, Aaron and Georgia who remembered us. Thanks also go to Mauro. The reception staff were always helpful as are the bar staff (Doris is wonderful). Would we go back for a 5th time next years - not sure.

Room Tip: Beds in hotel seemed much more comfortable than in the bungalows. Room facing the front of the hotel...

Have just returned from a 2 week stay at Iberostar Creta Panorama and can honestly say you will love this hotel, the staff do an excellent job running this hotel.
We arrived late at night and the restuarant had closed, there was a late buffet for us which included soup, bread, ham, cheese and fruits.
Quick check in and shown to our room which was on the 4th floor amazing views, the rooms are a little like you would find in premier inns, very clean, nice size room and bathroom. the beds are hard but followed the advice on here and asked the following morning for mattress toppers and extra pillows which was done straightaway.

Food
ignore the bad reviews on here there is a massive choice of food to choose from and are delicious,

Breakfast
omelettes bacon beans tomatoes sausages toast fresh bread hams cheeses fruit cereal cakes

Lunch
Soup fish chicken pasta fresh pizza hotdogs burgers chips salads etc

Evening dinner
Everthing imaginable chicken pork beef pasta pizza etc

there are 4 swimming pools 3 coves and grass area we liked to be at the main pool as this is where all the activites are, the beds are taken up early here not just by other nationalties the british are just as bad! however you could get beds elsewhere late morning.

There is a clothes shop and mini market which are expensive but if you go outside the hotel turn right and walk 10 minutes there is a mini market which is much cheaper.

Beach
To be honest we didnt spend much time here the water is clear but quite rocky and you had to pay for a sunbed

Daytime entertainment
lots to do from rifle shooting, archery french bowls, water polo, water volleyball, pool games, aerobics Zumba water dance, quizzes, bingo etc

Night time entertainment
Fantastic the animation team put on brilliant shows

Beach party led by the animation team
8 euros each but it was money well spent and a really good night dont miss it!

Location
The hotel is secluded so if you like shopping and walks this isnt the hotel for you.

trips
we travelled with Thomas Cook and found their trips very expensive we did however go to a waterpark with them costing 42 euros each but was well worth it we had a great day.

I have left the best to last THE ANIMATION TEAM what can i say i have never met a team like these before they are fantastic and hilarious and are a credit to the hotel,
Simone who leads the team do a brilliant job with kids teens and adults and arent pushy if you dont want to join,

We spent most time with Tony and Mauro and they do a brilliant job tony is hilarious and is such a nice guy as is Mauro and would like to thank them for making our holiday a fantastic one
The hotel wouldnt be the same without these.

Would i go again? DEFINATELY :)

returned yesterday after staying for 7 nights at this hotel and I have to say it was the best hotel i have ever stayed in. we were upgraded when we arrived to a bungalow which was very spacious and modern. The hotel itself was very clean and had lots of great public areas such as bars, cafes and gardens.
The food was brilliant. Always a wide varierty and something to suite everything. All of the food was fresh and they had a range of international foods as well as local greek produce. The restaurants were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful especially the chefs who were always on hand to recommend different dishes.
The location of the hotel made it a bit awkward getting to places however the hotel had so much going on that we only left once to visit a nearby waterpark. It has a mini market, clothes shop and jewellers on site.
We also attended the beach party which was fantastic. The animation team got everybody up dancing very quickly which got rid of any awkward first dances. Everyone joined in on boy vs girl dance offs and they served bbq food and fresh fruit for snacks. would deffinitely recommend attending and was only 8 euros each!
The best part of the hotel has to be the animation team. They are all extremely talented and friendly. They provided loads of different activites such as rifle shooting, pool games and nightly shows. They all spoke many languages and were excellent entertainers. They were very sociable and even after just speaking to them once they would remember your name and come talk to you around the pool. They were lead by Simone who always encouraged people to join in on the pool games and activities without being too pushy and made everyone laugh. Mauro and Tony organised a lot of the sports activities and they were some of the post friendly and hilarious people i have ever met. we got on especially well with tony as we participated in archery and rifle shooting each day and he always made us feel comfortable and welcome. Francessco was part of the teeny club however he still took the time to speak to us and join in on some of the pool games (and enjoyed having lengthy conversations with my boyfriend about tv shows and music they had in common). The animation team absolutely made our holiday and i would recommend them to anyone looking for a fun and entertaining break.
I took books, music and a ds to use whilst sunbathing in case i got bored and never used them once as there was always something to do :)
hoping tony will be there next year along with the rest of the team!
