My partner and I had dinner at Guantanamo in January 2013 during our trip to Gran Canaria.

The set out of the restaurant was nice, however i didn't like the plastic chairs we were sat on although not all of the chairs were plastic as far as i could see.

We had a jug of Sangria (which is fairly strong) and we both had a starter and main meal. I ordered a Spanish Omelette to start and there was far too much so if you do order this it would probably be better as a dish to share.

I ordered a 350g fillet steak for my main meal, however when it came out it definatley wasn't a fillet steak, it looked more like a rib-eye. As i thought it was fillet i had asked for it to be cooked rare, however as it wasn't, if anyone orders this i would recommend having it medium as that's the best way to eat a rib eye for its full flavour.

They serve the steak with a massive jacket potato and some vegetables so you do get a very substantial meal for the price.

We didn't have room for dessert but we were served some coffee, chocolate flavoured shots to end the meal.

Overall a good experience, good staff and good sized portions of food.

A perfect meal in a nice little surreal resturant. Surreal as it's sits there alone in a turn alongside the road. But dont be fooled. The place is bussy, serving pleased customers year in and year out. Resturant was established in 1987 and I have visited several times over the years. Only great food and good service can keep a resturant located like this in buisiness.

We booked a romantic table for two and shared a fish platter. Fresh and tasty fish, served in a very delicate way. The recomended wine was a perfect match. The service was outstanding.

We simply love this place!

The first impression we got about this place( seeing it from outside) was that it looked not so inviting( plastic walls).

But we went in anyway, and that was a good choice. We went as family of five. I ordered calamari canarian style as starter, very impressed by the taste, best ever. Main course no complaint either. We went there 3 times on 2 weeks stay. The second time the only complaints i have, is that the coffee we ordered was pretty close to cold. At new years eve we had made a reservation for 5, I was dissapointed when they had overbooked and they had to put us on a small table ( maybe 4 people table, but not 5). Put the waiters tried to fit us in, thats good.

Especially thanks to the waiter Sorin, he did a excellent job, and he took interest in his work, and to please the guests there.

All over I would really recommend this resturant. Nice service and really good food. But maybe stay away when new years eve ( occasions like that). The plastic walls makes it very hot when it is a lot of people there.

I will for sure be dining there again.
