As a family of four (children aged 15 and 17) and keen skiers, we have just returned from an excellent week staying half board at this hotel. We arrived fairly late due to flights and a later meal was no problem. The hotel is situated in the small village of Vent high up the valley with stunning views of the surrounding high mountain terrain but is only a 20 minute drive to the ski resorts of Solden and Obergurgl. The height of these resorts, with glacier skiing at Solden, makes it an excellent end of season option. The drive down the valley each day was an absolute pleasure. Our rooms were clean and comfy and had balconies overlooking the mountains, ideal for a late afternoon drink in the sunshine. The new sauna was also very welcome. The food was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet with cereals, cold meats, pate, cheese, fruit salad, yoghurts and fresh bread/rolls. There was also a choice of cooked eggs including bacon and scrambled eggs. We had a 5 course evening meal with a choice of 2 main courses which we selected at breakfast. The evening meals followed a similar format with a starter, soup course, salad from the buffet, main course and dessert. There was a nice variety of food with something different every day. The steak with rosti was particularly good. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. On the last night we went to the Hannibal event in Solden which they recommended and they provided an early meal so that we could get there on time. We had a really good week and came away thinking that it was the best value for money hotel we had stayed in for a long time. We would thoroughly recommend it and return ourselves.
