“A beautiful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

A lovely resort with beautiful views. Staff were very competent, friendly and helpful. Excellent choice of food, pool areas were really nice with a very good pool bar. A quiet, relaxing and peaceful place to stay and I'd definitely recommend it.

I must to say that I really enjoy there, the service is good and the location its perfect between the mountains and close to the beach, for couples i think is the best place !
The rooms are big and comfortable , the balcony is big with a beautiful view .
The food is ok, I recommend to stay on this hotel .

Must say I have never ever experienced such high standards at this hotel and the service of the hotel was so good as they never kept you waiting and always made sure that they took away your finished plates and cutlery. I loved every moment of the hotel and going to the spa was more than I ever expected and was very happy with the standards of the bedrooms and views.

We visited early august 2012, we were brought into our room and were nicely surprised by the modern feel and lightness, although this was very short lived. First of all there are no double beds but two single beds pushed together apart from the top floor, where the view is completely blocked by a solid 'wall' balcony. the hospitality of the staff was not that of a 5 star hotel, very unfriendly and unapproachable, the aircon was not adequate, note we only arrived at the end of august and therefore the weather gets slightly cooler. there is absolutely no view of the sea, so do not get deceived by the pictures shown on the website. the pools are not heated which makes things a lot more uncomfortable. the biggest disappointment of the whole experience at the Filion suites resort and spa was that of the food. AVOID at all times, greasy, inedible, 2 stars at best, over priced at the pool. we barely ate at the hotel even though getting half board. the location is really desolate, Bali itself has nothing to offer but a few Tavernas on an average beach and town. would definitely recommend getting a car. was so disappointed by the overall experience and would never recommend this place to anyone. will definitely not be returning.

We really enjoyed it. Yes it is a bit remote but as long as you accept that then there should be no problem. The mini bus into Bali was quite frequent but would benefit from having more seats to save return trips and an evening service would be most welcome as there are no taxis to be had in Bali itself. However, on the one occasion we stayed in Bali in the evening we were given a lift back by one of the locals. The place itself is very friendly and all the staff in Filion were very helpful. We had no complaints there and having worked in the hotel trade in the past I have always found that if you treat staff with respect and a smile 99 times out of a hundred it will be reciprocated. The food was perfectly acceptable if a little repetitive but we ate in every night except one and had no problems whatsoever. As was mentioned by other reviewers water on the table would be appreciated but otherwise we did not find the drinks or wine particularly expensive. A special mention to Miri in the bar who kept us well entertained and considering our room overlooked the bar we had no problem getting to sleep at night. We did not see the green and cloudy water referred to by another reviewer in the pool either.
All in all a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

We visited from Oct11-18 2012. Very nice buildings and rooms - felt only a few years old. Aircon, balcony, big room, decent bed, light & airy, clean, modern bathroom. Very friendly staff, though chap on desk (manager?) not exactly a warm character nor very helpful. Great views out into the bowl of the mountains, but couldn't quite see the sea - about a mile away. Best beach within walking distance is the nearest, Livadi to the east of Bali town though probably crowded in high season. Good range of tavernas there too, good snorkelling, beautiful warm clear water. A reasonable walk to the beach going downhill along cart track, but a bit of a slog coming back. Fortunately the hotel lays on regular minibus rides to and from the town.

Everything was well-organised though we had to wait about an hour for collection from the airport - but that was not the fault of the hotel. But.....! My wife and I suffered a nasty dose of food poisoning putting me out of action for a day, along with three other people we met there and rumours of many more. The management was not interested or concerned. Worst of all though was the very loud modern dance music from the nice but open bar area continuously from 2pm to well into the night. Made it impossible to enjoy a quiet drink in the early evening - or indeed at any time. Couldn't sit out on our balcony either - it was too loud and too awful; the same tired selection of tunes every day - probably from iTunes on a Genius selection. Really bad. Lastly, the pool water in the top two pools was revolting - green, cloudy and didn't smell right. Could that have been the source of the tummy-upset? We have our own pool at home and we know about pool chemistry. This was dreadful and again spoilt our time there. We would not go again, nor can we recommend it unless you like continuous loud music and are not fussy about food or pool water quality. Shame - could be perfect.

Room Tip: Get as far away from the bar as possible. Preferably at the lowest level where the pool water was ok...

I went to Bali with my boyfriend last week of September. We stayed at Filion Hotel for a week. The weather was 32'C At the hotel famous Renata gave us warm welcome and showed round the hotel. It turns out that she's polish like me so we had lots to talk about. The room was very spacious and had 2 separate air conditionings which pleasantly surprised me.The view from the balcony was amazing, you couldn’t wish for more. The room was very clean and we were surprised by attention to detail from the cleaners, towels ware changed everyday. The hotel is isolated so complete silence helped relax as back home you always hear cars. We’ve met some great people which we spend time round pool an bar in the evening. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were recommended 'first beach' in bali which was a lot cooler than round the pool and we very much enjoyed big cold beer :-)We also had a full body massage each and Maria is the best and knows exactly what you need!!The only thing that I found a bit disappointing was food, very greasy but I guess that just is Greek cuisine.
I would definitely recommend Filion Hotel!!
Thanks
Bea
