Brilliant stay

Review of Petroto Villas
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 17, 2017via mobile
We stayed in Petroto for two weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The villa is perfectly equipped, the pool was a hit with my young daughters and the Kiotari beach is just so quiet and lovely. The owners are very very nice and looked after us. I highly recommend Petroto for a nice quiet family break.

What a lovely place, beautiful house (we had the red), enough privacy and a very welcoming and polite host, Kyriakos! The view from the garden is wonderful especially in combination with the nice flavors that enter your nose from the garden below.
The location is actually quite central as you can easily visit all highlights of the Island from Kiotari. Especially liked running in the morning along the coast road and swimming in the sea at Lindos beach (or many of the other beaches). Our son loved the swings and little playground next to the house on the premises. Greek food is really nice!!
You will not regret going to Petroto Villas! Thank you Kyriakos!!

We stayed in a villa here for 11 nights and had the most relaxing holiday ever. The peace and the quiet was just what we needed. The villa was amazing as was the garden and the shared pool. The owners were lovely and even cooked us a Greek meal one night and bought it up to our garden also with some Suma. It was fabulous food. Also when we left we had a gift bag with a homemade jam and a drink made from the fruits of the garden. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again. We didn't want to leave.

We stayed here for a week in September 2015 and what a blissful week it was. The villas are simple but have all you would need, and the whole place was very peaceful and beautiful. We only saw two other people there for the whole week. We made friends with the local cats who came to visit us each night, and I enjoyed the small pool during the heat of the day. The highlight of the villas has got to be the owner, Kiriakos, who really amazed us with the warmth and hospitality he showed us. We arrived quite late at night and our transfer coach took us to a hotel up the road. He picked us up from there and took us to the villas, and even found us some food. He always went out of his way to help us out without even being asked, he gave us a lift into Lindos one day, and he and his wife cooked us a beautiful complimentary meal one evening which was way more food than the two of us could finish! At the end of our visit he dropped us of at our pick up hotel, and presented us with a gift of olive oil.

Kiotari itself is also lovely, but it's worth bearing in mind that it is only small and there is not a huge amount to do. If you want somewhere peaceful and relaxing with quiet beaches where you can pick from a handful of restaurants for dinner each night then it's perfect. If you want more of a lively atmosphere with clubs and pubs and shopping then I would look elsewhere. We spent our days either relaxing at our villa, relaxing on the small but quiet beach which was 5 minutes walk away, snorkelling in the sea (buy rubber sea shoes or you'll cut your feet on the rocks!), and just took one day trip into Lindos to see the Acropolis. We loved our week there, and would happily go back.

We had a lovely fortnight at Petroto villas. Our villa (the blue one) had everything we needed - the beds were comfortable, the kitchen area was compact, but well-equipped; and the patio area had an amazing view to the sea. The pool was larger than I had expected, and was clean and well-maintained. The grounds were populated with herbs, fruit trees and some benches where you could watch the stars at night (the Milky Way was awesome!) There was also a family of local cats which belong to the property - to the delight of my children - they seemed well-looked after, and entertained us with their comic antics (they weren't a nuisance). The only surprise was that the 'washing machine' was more of a free washing service performed by a lady who worked at the villa - which made me hesitate about giving her too much to do! The villas were a 5 minute walk up a hill from the beach, and within walking distance to a supermarket, several reasonable restaurants (Capi di Pizza was fab!) and a fantastic ice-cream parlour. The local beach was ok, but we preferred the Glystra Beach slightly to the north of us. However the location was really convenient, as it rendered the north, south and west of the island accessible with an easy drive. As others have alluded to, Mr.Kiriakos was a lovely welcoming host - we arrived to find a huge bowl of fruit and a bottle of Rhodian wine awaiting us, and mid-way through our stay, had 'a few small plates of tapas', which turned out to be a delicious home-cooked meal. I would recommend these villas for a relaxing holiday.

We stayed in the turquoise villa. It was beautifully set out and well presented. It had a great view to the sea. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming leaving us a bottle of wine and fresh fruit. They also kindly gave us a tray of traditional Greek foods for us to try. The position of the villa was just great, only 350 metres from the beach and about 100 metres from the nearest restaurant (Capi di Pizza)and a wonderful ice cream shop (Fredditos). The villa had good WiFi, a pool, a garden, air con and good facilities. We couldn't have wished for more. We had a great holiday there and I would definitely go back and recommend it.
