We had a lovely fortnight at Petroto villas. Our villa (the blue one) had everything we needed - the beds were comfortable, the kitchen area was compact, but well-equipped; and the patio area had an amazing view to the sea. The pool was larger than I had expected, and was clean and well-maintained. The grounds were populated with herbs, fruit trees and some benches where you could watch the stars at night (the Milky Way was awesome!) There was also a family of local cats which belong to the property - to the delight of my children - they seemed well-looked after, and entertained us with their comic antics (they weren't a nuisance). The only surprise was that the 'washing machine' was more of a free washing service performed by a lady who worked at the villa - which made me hesitate about giving her too much to do! The villas were a 5 minute walk up a hill from the beach, and within walking distance to a supermarket, several reasonable restaurants (Capi di Pizza was fab!) and a fantastic ice-cream parlour. The local beach was ok, but we preferred the Glystra Beach slightly to the north of us. However the location was really convenient, as it rendered the north, south and west of the island accessible with an easy drive. As others have alluded to, Mr.Kiriakos was a lovely welcoming host - we arrived to find a huge bowl of fruit and a bottle of Rhodian wine awaiting us, and mid-way through our stay, had 'a few small plates of tapas', which turned out to be a delicious home-cooked meal. I would recommend these villas for a relaxing holiday.
