Good for: Romantic, Scenic view
Dining options: Late Night, Breakfast, Reservations
Description: If you want a relaxing evening head for the old village on the hill and visit the wonderful Bella Vista Taverna. From the terrace with its olive tree canopy and the hanged Greek style pumpkins, you'll find a knockout view of the bay and you'll see across the Ionian Pelagos to the mountainous of the Greek mainland. The menu features familiar dishes like Sofrito, Stifado and Pastitsio, all of them freshly cooked and with inspired original touches. The atmosphere is completely relaxed -a delight, and when it gets dark the starlight is spectacular, also the full moon nights are not to be missed. Situated high up in the old village of Moraitika 5-7 minutes walk from the main road.

What can I say.. The views are amazing and if you miss this out you really have missed out!
The food is excellent and you will be looked after by the most wonderful people.
Whilst its a bit of a walk it is definitely worth it and its also a bit easier on the way down!

“Its a long way up the hill”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

This restaurant is right at the top of the hill with fantastic views of the village and sea below. However the food is only average and although the service was good I did not think it was worth the effort climbing the hill

“Lovely Views”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

This is the longest trek up the hill of all the old village restaurants but the spectacular views across the sea towards mainland Greece makes it worth the effort, and the terrace is attractive and a pleasant place to sit. The food was good but not amazing despite being the most expensive of all the places we visited. I'm glad we went but it wasn't worthy of a second visit.

“Love this Place”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

The Bella Vista is a fabulous restaurant although there is quite a steep climb to get there, but once you arrive you will realise the climb was well worth it. The views from the restaurant on a lovely sunny day are amazing and even at night, when the sun is going down, they are hard to beat. The food is typically Greek and cooked by the lovely Alexandra, wife of the owner Lakis. We have never had a bad meal here yet.
Lakis and his son Christos, who has an uncanny resemblance to Robbie Williams of Take That fame, always greet you with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Visited the restaurant on many occasions during our holiday in September 2013, either for our lunch or dinner with family and friends, Stan, Glenys, Carol and Dave and I can honestly say that with the views, excellent food and service (always with a smile of course), this is fast becoming my favourite place to eat in Moraitika. Will be the first place we visit on our return to Moraitika next year. Lots of love to Lakis and all the family

“Great view”

Fantastic panorama view of mainland Greece ! Food was also very good. Bit of a hike from Moraitika main strip, but well worth it.
