“To be considered for family budget trip”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

We spent one week in Messonghi Beach Resort during our family vacation on Corfu. Messonghi consist of several buildings and dozen of bungalows occupying quite a large space with direct access to the beach. There are few hundred rooms, 3 swimming pools, bars and places for sport activities like tennis. It's not crowded as we expected initially bearing in mind number of people staying there at the same time. It's not a challenge to find a sunbed or a table at the restaurant (maybe in high season it's different)

The hotel has been constructed in 70s and even after refurbishment some places still need improvement. It's basically clean and the staff is working hard to make you comfy and relaxed - maids, waiters and entertainment executives. The entertainment program includes sport activities on the pools and evening cultural program. English was not widely spoken and majority of guests are French or Belgians and Eastern Europeans.

We stayed on All Inclusive - there was plenty choice of food and drinks including local alcohols. Beware on the food they serve - I had stomach problems and in result I spent 2 days in a toilet. Some other people had similar issues.

Generally the hotel is fine excluding food. It's a quite place ideal for families or elders but young people looking for night life could be disappointed.

Had a great time at this hotel. Staff were lovely and the hotel spotless. Food was lovely so I cannot understand why people complain, some people just like to moan for the sake of it. I will definately be going back here next year. We stayed in the bungalows which were really spacious. Only downside is the entertainment as it did not really cater for english speaking guests but after a few ouzo's it was a good laugh!!!

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are still to be refurbed so ask for a refurbed room.

Just returned home from one of the best resorts ever, after reading the reviews on here was rather worried as to what to expect we should not have been, we came on a family and friends holiday to celebrate hubbies 60th birthday ranging in ages from 1 yr up to 67yrs and had a ball 15of us in total but being welsh probably sounded as if we were a lot more. We had superior rooms right by beach and baby pool all lovely and clean and was never asked for any money for sunbeds on beach and we were all there every day. The hotel is very large with lovely grounds the food was excellent with plenty of choice and wines beers and soft drinks available to help yourself too.entertainment had finished as we didn't arrive until 7th October but every evening there was a great guy singing and Mariana who was fab did mini disco before joining him for karaoke or sing along so ther was always something going on at an evening but sadly this all finished at 11 o'clock..Everyone we came across was always happy and helpful and made our holiday a very happy one,but high season may not be the same I must mention Mariana once again as she is a gem with the children and is in the fun club with them doing activities and my grandchildren were so sad to say goodbye to her also manager who didn't charge us to keep all our rooms on until 6pm on day we were leaving thank you also like to mention that ther is now a Union Jack flag flying on hotel now so if your going to stay here go with open mind and you will enjoy thoroughly wish we were still there and to all the people we met thanks we really enjoyed your company banter and sing song.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and have a superior room

Can't fault the hotel. The staff,room(s/v superior),location very good .I must pick out the chef for an extra mention.Superb food and excellent choices even for the veggies.
Entertainment OK .
Must mention the reception who did there job admirably.
The house maids were attentive .
A great hotel for young families as it is A/I.
Would think it would be overcrowded in July/August.
Right up to the last day the staff worked hard.
DOWNSIDE......Corfu is closing down from beginning of October. Some resorts eg Kavos is a ghost town by mid October .Nothing was open except two tavernas.Only Corfu town in alive and kicking.
Tip.Be very careful where you book your hotel. Many are miles from a sandy beach, are difficult to get to along dangerous roads or up a steep hill.Bus transport can be iffy ...poor timetables.Roads are in a poor state.
No problem at the Messonghi Beach. So go there and enjoy.

Room Tip: Room 638(2nd floor) sun all day. Twin block A and B far enough away to be convenient for everything...

ist time here and i was unable fault the place food very good also drink this 3 star complex i have been in some 4 star no ware near what the messonghi had to offer ( sol pelicanos get your act together in benidorm )
like everywhere there is a few negatives you have to pay 3 euros a day for the water slides and also sunbeds on the beach.
i met some of the worst mannered people russians top followed close by the germans and even the french thought they we a cut above us they tried to bully us see how i say tried they got no change from me when they tried to push in the que these were very ignorant people but it would not stop me going near them again hope you find this review helpful
the elvis bar along the beach good entertainment but comes with a very hefty price tag 5 euros for a small bottle of strongbow which costs £1.70 here at home be warned you will leave with empty pockets

Room Tip: pay to upgrade to a superior room you get aircon tv and a fridge a standard room has none of theses...
