Well where do I start.
Booked well in advance to go to Magna Graecia. When we landed at the airpot we was told we were being taken to Messonghi beach resort but they could not give us any answers to why this was and as it was 4am in the morning we agreed and would sort it out the following day. I went to reception and asked if we were going to be taken to Magna Graecia our original hotel and the recepionist just kept saying did not know anything. I realised they had over booked the hotels but they were not giving us these answers.
We went for breakfast, It was like feeding frenzy at a zoo. So many RUDE people pushing and shoving fighting for drinks etc. I decided we would not bother with this in the mornings. Lunch was just the same so was dinner. It felt like poeple was so greedy they hadn't been fed in days.
This hotel is not for English familys. Out of the whole hotel which must have around 1500 rooms there was 4 british familys and we were one of them. Queing for drinks on an evening was a joke. Poeple did not que they just pushed in from all angles, I even told a number of people it is rude to push in but they did it even more, there was not respect from them.
The rooms smelt terrible could not put any clothes in the wardrobe as they were fusty my husband threw 3 shirt in the bin because of the smell. The cleaners came in daily made the bed and that was it. Didn't wipe any sides down or change the beds in 10 days we were there. One bath towel and 2 hand towles were left for 3 adults I had to keep asking for extra. In the end we used our own. There was 4 pools to choose from but you had no chance of getting a sunbed due to there only being aroud 25 at each pool but there was plenty on the beach at a charge of 3 euros per day each. The water slide also you had to pay for to use. We did not have air conditioning or a fridge in our room it was basic. We did have a sea view once you got past the air conditioning units on the flat roof from the restaurant, and the smell was horrible. We was on the second floor. Good points of the hotel food was plentyful and a good choice, drinks in the A.I was not a problem you could get as many as you wanted which we did because of the queing situation, it was easier to get a couple at a time. Altough sprits was only a choice of vodka, brandy or ozos. Also the weather was fantastic so that always is a good point.
I rung the operators for 5 days running and went to reception where I still did not get any help, on the day before we were due to return home I had a message that we could change hotels to the Magna graecia I really thought they were having a laugh they had 10 days to sort out this problem and our last day there they came up with this offer.
We had pre booked and payed for a taxi we were told we were being picked up at 14.30 we waited from 13.00 hours just to make sure we wasn't going to miss our transfer to the airport. by 14.45 I asked reception to ring them to find out why we still waiting for the transfer. They had forgotten. All in All corfu is a lovley area to visit and corfu town is a must but the organisation is terrible and also the messonghi hotel . If you are travelling to this area please be awere they is NO organisation. Entertainment team did well with the hoards of kids there although english speaking was limited.

Room Tip: Second floor Terrible

The hotel is situated in the middle of a lovely bay. Our room was overlooking the sea which was fantastic. The room was spacious and clean with air con and a fridge (which came in very handy) The rooms were cleaned daily. Food in the main restaurant was of good quality with plenty of choices. We used the snack bar for our lunch in which the outdoor seating area for this was overlooking the sea. The beach was literally a minutes walk from our room with sunbeds and parasols for 3 euros each. There was entertainment every night, which was very family orientated. The staff on the whole were very friendly and helpful apart from one or two of the bar staff in the main bar area were ignorant and rude. Towards the end of the holiday the hotel got very busy, so we had walks out and we found a lovely little taverna just opposite the hotel (straight across the road and just a little way up on your left) Billy's Bar, which served delicious food and fab cocktails at a really reasonable price. Billy and his wife Anna were most welcoming and friendly.

As the hotel is very family orientated, I would recommend this hotel for families especially with young children. I wouldnt really recommend for couples as I would imagine it to be overrun with children in the peak seasons.

On the whole we really enjoyed our stay there as it was pretty quiet when we went (first two weeks in June)

Room Tip: Make sure you book a superior room

we have just returned from Messonghi Beach Resort, and I can say that this is very nice family oriented hotel, we had a family room in Twin A part, the room was clean, and enough big for us, the cleaning was done every day, and all the hotel was very clean, the staff was very helpful, and there was always something to do, it is true that there are lots of things to pay extra but it was OK, the pools were clean and not overcrowded, the beach was not realy sandy, there was some chesil, it was OK for me or my husband but our son wanted to have shoes to water, there was very good sport centre at the beach, you can try water banana, fun rings or paragliding :-) the food was excellent, there was no time to be hungry, mixed drink poor but you can pay for better ones, i love it there and want to go there for the next holiday

Room Tip: i heard that the rooms in the main Poseidon building are not so good, there are two types of rooms 3...

The hotel is very noisy, like there is no doors in the room.Toilets are badlly constructed and keep the wather afther showering. Also you must flush wather in toilet like 5 times. On the 3.flour you can smell a kitchen cooking and a lots of drafts.Towels are old and patched.Closets are dirty and old smells and painted with wall paint.Stuff are very uninteresed in your problems and very slowly.Ktchen is good but you must wait to clean and set up your table.

We had two weeks in august the rooms are very bad we changed twice and paid for an upgrade but still grubby and smelly, in the food hall they turned off the aircon and fans so that you couldn't eat too much because of the heat and turned off the air-conditioning at night in the rooms, we ended up eating out my advise is to look at the rooms and food hall before you pay if possible.

Room Tip: look for hotels in messonghi village

Got to the hotel we had pre booked superior room all inclusive.
we were shown to our room but there was a problem 915. there some one in the room and
therefore given 911 nice new room but no balcony, no where to dry your cloths.
the hotel is catering for the middle eastern block so not many brits.
cannot knock the food or staff very good. air con could do better but you expect that
went for a week only that was enough.
the bar staff are unfriendly under the main dinning room area
it is 11years since we went to the hotel and there have been quite a few changes in that period of time some for the good some for the bad.

Room Tip: rooms on the south side are quieter
