We booked this hotel for 2 weeks planning to move around all the island and the nearest islands as well. So, the points which we needed were good location, car hires, boat rents and some cafes around. That's why we had chosen Albatros. The location of the hotel is really good. It is one of the few hotels which are situated directly on the beach. There's only the swimming pool area of the hotel between the building and the sea. The sea is really warm, one of the warmest of all I've enjoyed. The beach is long and comefortable, though you should be rather careful and don't swim in the areas which are for small boats and water attractions, there are urchins.
There are many tavernas and cafes around the hotel. There's also many supermarkets in Moraitika, but to my mind the best one is one of the nearest to the hotel, General Market (3 minute walk from the hotel). Car rentals are also near, we used one called Abba, and it satisfied us, though there are many others.
Moraitika itself is a small village and it is connected with a round about with Messonghi, another village. The hotel is between them and it takes about 5-7 minutes to get to the main road of Moraitika-Messonghi.
The hotel itself is rather simple, but it's okay for 3*. We had a problem with our room, as we booked a triple room, but it was confused and we were settled in a double room with an extra bed. For 3 adults it was really impossible, so we requested for a move and we were given a family suit. It was the last problem we had with the hotel. The room itself is clean and neat, though rather simply furnished of course. Bed linen and towels were changed every 3 days.
Food is not so variable as it is in Spain, for example. But it's the tendention of Greece as it seems. Breakfast was contintal..we were given several kinds of bread, cucumbers or tomatoes, Feta cheese sometimes, cheese, two kinds of sausage, greek yoghurt, tin fruit, one type of omelet (scrummbled eggs or eggs with bread or with bacon), 2 kinds of muesli, and something sweet (2 kinds). Suppers were more interesting. We had some salats (greek one, olives or other vegetables, and one with ham), potatoes, some pies with spinach or vegetables or spring rolls, one kind of meat, one dessert and ice cream, watermelons.
There are two swimming pools in the hotel - one is for kids, one is for adults, though we didn't swim there. The sunbeds near the hotel are for free, but people go there at 6 in the morning to get them.
Every evening there was animation for kids and adults..discos, dances, and every thursday live music.
If you don't expect a 3* hotel to be like Ritz-Carlton, and you want to enjoy the island it is the right choice
