We are a family of 5, stayed at the hotel- room 116- early August. The hotel is situated by the sea while there was pool access from our balcony which was awesome since there was sea view and pool view as well. We also had access to the main pool which is situated a few minutes away and offers sunbeds also with shade since there are many trees around-not that common so thumbs up, not everyone loves the sun at 15.00 pm.
Corissia Princess is located near Georgiupolis' city centre, so you can go everywhere in foot, plus there’s always free parking nearby. Breakfast is awesome, one can enjoy waffles, crepes and omelets baked on the spot as well as fresh fruit 🍉 , lemon juice etc. During dinner Greek gyro and pasta is being prepared on the spot, yet the rest of the dinner-time food seemed pretty basic to me. Great variety of desserts, most of them being served in small portions, it is a beautiful hotel yet almost all visitors are German so I believe this is the main reason portions were tiny. You could always ask for more though which we did. A major drawback for us Greeks was the fact that, during dinnertime one had to pay for water which was free in the morning, and cost a lot, like 4 euros per bottle. In the end you might end up pay sth like 50 euros just for bottled water even though tap water in Crete is drinkable. Imagine that ;-)
The hotel is indeed situated approximately 200m away from the restaurant where breakfast and dinner is being served even though there is a patio with beautiful view on the last floor which is a bummer, I suppose it needs extra effort to bring food back and forth from the main restaurant, a 3 minute stroll didn't hurt anyone, plus when it is dinner time there is always a Greek night, or another event with live music around the main pool everyone can enjoy. This way you might have guests outside the hotel accompany you which is not so common for other hotels. There is also a children's playground with a trampoline situated near the main pool that events take place so thumbs up for that.
Spa services are being offered at the hotel, we were given a great discount for a couple's massage yet 3 young kids equals no massages :-)
Main drawback: the awful smell of sewage and the pipes in the water next to where people swim, I can not tell what they actually were, yet I can imagine which I suppose is worse. I wish I was told what it was, I did not bother to ask though, don't know why... Maybe I did not want to know... Anyways!
When it comes to people, since I am mainly a people's person, Terri helped us get acquainted with everything, Christos and Babis helped us with our breakfast and dinner, many thanks to all the staff, especially Maria and Emilia and all the girls at the front office, beautiful people ready to serve when needed so thumbs up for that. I have been a bit of a nuisance spamming them with emails yet it seemed a bit strange booking a room you know nothing about that costs so much, in the end we got an upgrade (I call it upgrade, others might call it "I was given a choice between the 2 rooms". Thank you, everyone, btw! Thank you also for the wine and olive oil, a beautiful surprise.
All in all we had a beautiful time, the owners did an excellent work making us feel like home, we will definitely revisit, I just hope the smell is gone though....
Happy holidays holiday makers!
