Before I start telling you about our experience at the Pilot Beach Resort, I want to tell you that we love Greece and it is always our first choice when we want to go to the seaside.
Regarding the hotel I will start by telling you that if you want to go at the Pilot Beach Resort you must have at least one baby, not more than 2 year old, but better two children, otherwise you will not understand why you pay 6300Eur and wake up during the night in because of the screaming from the next door .
Also, within 10 days they did not change our sheets and towels, we understand the environmental theory, but I believe that here it was all about protecting profits.
If you have a child with a strict schedule, that sleeps during the afternoon and so on, you will have a problem, because , in our case, there was always a lot of noise coming from upstairs, they were cleaning the room and moving all the furniture pieces and you could hear everything like it was in your own room.
And after that, the family upstairs had two children that were running in the room and yelling and you could hear everything very good.

Regarding the meals, we had 3 meals/day and we were surprised to see that the food was mostly rice, milk and eggs, when you expect at least some kind of seafood or fish considering that you are Crete where there are hundreds of fish restaurants and one of the main activity is fishing.
In the end, we booked for Lobster night, on Saturday and it was a pity cause we throw the money, we have then realized that these people are advertising profit and nothing else. I don’t recommend you at all.

With a few days before leaving, we found an envelope on the bed from the reception, that was asking us to come and tell them about the day we left. I was once again amazed because they didn’t ask me if I need smth or if my staying thee is beautiful, nothing. Bad management and a bad customer service.
I will finish by saying that if you really love Greece it is not the worst option if you are running out of time to search for other offers, because it has a beautiful beach and most of the employees are kind and eager to help you ( especially the waiters and the beach boys) and it is in Crete, a place blessed by God!

Room Tip: the one on the beach ( but very expansive)

Been there for 6 days with my fiancee. Huge resort with amazingly friendly staff , right next to you!
Big comfortable rooms , 3 pools , and lovely beach. There is always a guy that takes you and your luggage to your room, by car!!!
The best thing thing about this hotel is the GIGANTIC 5-star breakfast !!
The titles says "strictly family hotel" because there are huge playgrounds , and ofcourse a magnificent , big, KIDS CLUB , where you can leave your kids all day and relax with your loved one, or friends!
Little noise in the morning from kids, if you stay in the rooms across the big pool!! So if you are NOT a morning type DO NOT get the rooms next to the big pool!! :)

Room Tip: Sea-view rooms are great and quiet!! If you are NOT a morning type DO NOT get the rooms next to the...

Enjoyed every minute of it. Very good food and relaxing atmosphere. I was attending a conference with a group of friends. Facilities were great and staff was really helpful - servicing us all way through, even during late hours ! They also offered us flexible dinner and lunch time to accommodate our conference schedule. Resort rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Very efficient room service.

we extended our stay one more night as the place is really fantastic. we had a db bunglaw on the sea front and close to the pool with all amenities that a local good hotel can provide. the rate was half board but we NEVER had dinner in the hotel seen that the brakfast was plenty and rich and in the evenings we prefered to go out for dinner.service was very good and fast in consideration of the size of the resort, parking facilities ok. I strongly suggest to couple even with pets (we had ours). the resort is conveniently located between Rethimno and Chania and in a couple of hours by car you can reach all nice beaches west of Crete. I will surely return and stay in a corner bungalow with private pool.

Room Tip: sea front rooms/bungalows

I travelled with a wife and a 2-year old daughter. We all found the vacation quite enjoyable
Rooms
We got a pool view bungalow room. Although the room could be a little larger, we generally liked it. The flat screen LCD turned out to be capable of playing files from a flash drive which was a nice feature – so our baby could enjoy the cartoons we brought on a flash drive.
Territory
Fairly large and green. They have a mini-train trip around the territory which kids like a lot. The pools are nice and clean. They have a special pool area for kids where they can slide down the slides into the pool.
Food
Quite a nice and varied. Although by the end of our 2-week vacation we got bored with breakfasts which were always pretty standard
Beach
The beach is quite nice and clean, in the surrounding of mountains. There is a good shallow line in the sea so the kids can swim and play safely. Although it was high season – there have always been enough sun beds (however if you come late-you’d end up with a sun bed which is quite far from the sea). I found it slightly uncomfortable that sun beds are not wide enough so you can’t place your elbows comfortably when reading a book. Also the umbrella size was a bit too small from me so the shade they cast was never enough to cover my whole body- a head or feet would be exposed to the sun))) (I’m 183 cm).
Gym
The gym has few treadmills, rowing machine, and training equipment, fit balls, step platforms, very light dumbbells. The gym is clearly missing free weights. It would be great to have a rack with moderate and heavy dumbbells so the workout could be complete.
Staff/service
Everyone has been quite friendly and welcome. The personnel at reception has been quite friendly and always helpful.

So generally this has been quite enjoyable vacation. Would definitely go back to this hotel especially if they fix the situation with sunbeds/umbrellas and gym equipment

Room Tip: I liked the area where i was located. The room is facing two pools - for kids and adults. It's f...

This is a beautiful hotel in a very pretty area of Crete. We visited in early August and the weather was very hot! Always plenty of sunbeds and sunshades available around the various pools(3 in the main building area and 1 by the sea) and also on the beach. Towells provided free of charge for use around the pool with an easy change procedure from the friendly staff next to the shop. If you have smaller children there is a purpose built kids splashzone which looked very colourful and great fun!! Our room was a junior suite which was extremley clean and spacious, facing directly onto the main pool with easy access to the restaurant and bar areas. All staff very friendly and helpful ,from the pool cleaner to the restaurant manager, nothing was too much trouble for anyone and we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the nearest village( a nice walk along the sea front), but you can use their friendly train service in the evening for a small fee. There is always entertainment in the evenings at the hotel, ranging from magic shows for the children to singing and dancing for the adults. A wide variety of foods were available from the fantastic buffet in the main restaurant or a-la-carte in the smaller restaurant(you will find something to suit all palates here). I would reccommend this hotel for families and couples as there is a wide variety of things to try if you want to be kept busy during your holiday, or if you just want to sit back and relax with a good book, it is equaly tranquil!

Very nice hotel; spacious, multiple pools, bungalow style, relaxed atmosphere. No noise from the main road that passes through both sides of the hotel. The separation between the main road and the hotel is well done. The beach area is also very nice (pool, beach, restaurant, bar, rooms at beach side are very recommendable). No lounge chair reservation problem. Friendly staff.
We had a nice family room in the back; with view on a nice pool. See photo. The room had a decent fridge.
The food in the restaurant was excellent (we stayed on a half board regime). The kids had a full board arrangement, which is handy. For adults, there is a good buffet lunch option at affordable price (€15). The restaurants have sufficient tables outside. The à la carte wines are very good and affordable. The beach side restaurant has a nice sunset.
The hotel is very well located for day trips, be it towards Chania, or towards Rethymon, or to the mountains. We rented a car with the Sixt car rental station in the hotel. The local town Georgioupolis also has some nice taverns.

Room Tip: Choose a room with pool or sea view. Avoid being very close to main road.
