We have been going to Vasiliskos for three years or so, and every time we have had a superb experience there. The owner/Chef, Yiannis, has introduced a new concept to his menu, a meze that is not a pure Mediterranean meze, but is a mixture of all sorts of different dishes.
Last night seven of us went to 'celebrate', if that's the right word, two of our friends returning to the UK. Of the seven, five had the new meze and their comments were more than favourable. The starting salad really got the tastebuds tingling, a mixture of rocket, shaved carrot, dried figs, walnuts, grated parmesan, all topped off with mixed berries. the other 15 dishes were well balanced, and all in all it was excellent value. I think Yiannis has found a winner there.
The ambience of the whole restaurant makes for a very pleasant dining experience and is thoroughly recommended for a special occasion.
