I booked the Grupotel Playa Club in Cala’n Bosch without doing very much research and found it better than expected even though its rated at 4*. The hotel is mainly for families and very well equipped with high chairs and plastic cups, plates and dishes for the kids. We arrived late on a Friday after a flight from East Midlands and were expected with a cheery smile and a quick efficient check-in. The reception is large and spacious and leads to a bar with plenty of soft seating and a small stage as the hotel has evening entertainment for kids in the early evening and mainly singers of various sorts and styles.
The room was very clean through out our stay.
Breakfast is downstairs from reception and is from 8-10.30, again is large spacious with a large covered patio to sit outside near the rock waterfall and birds singing. The buffet style is comprehensive with plenty of cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, fruits, breads and cooked options. The staff turn the tables quickly to ensure there is always plenty of options of where to sit.
Around the pool again plenty of sun loungers, 2 large pools, one for small children and the larger is very shallow to 2.3m with a life guard from around 10am. There is no loud music or towels placed over loungers before it gets light, which is refreshing. There is a small sandy beach about 200m with water sports, loungers and umbrellas for hire with a few bars and supermarket for drinks, ice creams and snacks. There are a couple of animators that keep the few kids happy by getting them to join the pirate club rounding up more kids and parents alike
Evening the bar is not crowded and usually has an early kids mini disco before bed before an adult singer comes on. These seem to be on a circuit and aren’t the best by any means, even from my untrained ears, so we stayed away.
The small harbour/marina is about 20-25 minutes walk away where there is plenty of bars and restaurants of just about every kind. Cala’n Bosch is family friendly in every way. Again no loud music and the waiting staff are very tolerant of kids, the restaurants compete for you custom like most resorts put aren’t pushy.
All in all the Grupotel Playa Club has been very good and relaxing in every way.

Situated in a quiet urbanisation, close to a beach. Very spacious duplex room with bedroom window looking on to pool and balcony off upstairs living room looking out to sea. Gardens good for children to play safely. Good selection of food at self service buffet breakfast and dinner_ very child friendly including children's plates/ bowls and lots of high chairs.
Immaculately clean around pool area and faultless room cleaning. The staff were lovely, helpful, efficient attentive, the children's entertainers were lovely and worked hard.
This is a fabulous hotel for families and groups, the pool closes at 18.30 and it is very quiet after around 21.30hrs. As 2 adults with no children we wanted a quiet, chilled week _ this hotel provided it with a 20 minute walk through residential streets to anywhere open later (Cala n Bosch). The area is entirely constructed for the holiday industry _ if you are looking for somewhere culturally or historically Spanish then Ciutadella is probably the nearest place. What it sets out to be _ the Grupotel playa Club achieves very well. I couldn't fault the staff or services.

What a fabulous 11 nights we have just had at Grupotel Playa Club Menorca! We were a large family group of 4 adults, two 8 year olds, a 5 yr old and an 11 month old. Hard to please everyone? Not at all! This hotel and the animation team of Mike, Michael and Bert were brilliant. Activities wee planned wily for both adults and kids so we all had a pick and mix of things to do. Stretching, water polo, killer darts, table tennis, volley ball, crafting for kids, football, aqua danced, mini disco, boules, explorer trip for kids, quiz trail, air hockey challenge...so much to choose from and no pressure to do anything. The winners got gifts too like a goody bag or drinks voucher. You can’t help but learn the fun club dance too! There is a separate activities board in reception for kids (4-12), teens and adults but mix groups depending on levels of interest.

In the hotel, you can expect absolute cleanliness.

Outdoor Pool
There is a large pool and a separate child shallow pool. There are ample sun beds and towels are provided for a €10 deposit each. Clean pool towels provided weekly or if it rains and they are outside.
The pool was lovely and warm in August.

Next to the pool is a fenced off shaded baby area with a swing and bouncy toys. This is where the kids crafting takes place too. It has a softer floor area than poolside.

Indoor pool
We used this once and although it seemed cooler than outside, it was fine. Kids can go in here between 10 - 2 with supervision. Sun beds are around it. There was a sauna but not in use.

Spa
Although we received a price list, we didn’t see any promotion of the spa, nor see any staff so not sure if this was open.

Restaurant
Wow! Catering for all nationalities. We are English and there were French, German and Spanish guests there too. The staff in the kitchen and on the floor work incredibly hard to ensure no one is waiting for a table, tables are cleared promptly and customer service is excellent.

We never struggled for food choices and given we were there for 11 nights, were amazed that they could rotate it so well without feeling like we had the same menu repeated.

A big thank you to Javier for looking after us so well!

Pool Bar
The lovely Miriam is in charge and looked after us. They make the nicest pizza and chips and service is 1-3 for food. You can get coffee and cake after this. Ice creams and drinks available all day poolside.

Hotel rooms
We had a two bed, two bathroom, kitchenette and lounge room.
The cleaners do an amazing job and keep them absolutely spotless every day. There was a bath and a shower in both of our bathrooms although in another apartment there was one bathroom that had bath with shower and the second bathroom had just a showerA hairdryer is provided in the bathroom.

Our balcony overlooked the pool.

The only thing I would suggest if you have a pushchair is to ask for a ground floor level room as even though we were pool level, we had to go up and down stairs every day. I became a pro at pushing mine up the grass embankment but obviously not an ideal solution!

Kids areas
Games area includes a pool table, dart board, table tennis, air hockey, other coin machines and then there is a dry football area and small park at the bottom end of the hotel grounds.

Long story short, we want to book again for next year!

We stayed in the Grupotel Playa Club for 3 days in June. The hotel is a good size, with the main draw being the big pool. We never had an issue getting a sun bed and there's a pool bar for snacks and refreshments. The pool bar was often unmanned, so on occasion you had to wait quite a long time to get served.

The rooms are large and spacious, with a kitchenette, living area and separate bedroom.

Breakfast is well stocked and we made good use of sitting outside on the terrace to eat.

Grupotel Playa Club is well equipped for families, however it's also a good hotel for couples to relax and unwind as well.

All in all, we had a great break in Menorca and definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
