This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it will not be the last - it makes such a change to staying in standardised chain hotels. Set in a rural village this pretty house oozes charm. With large gardens in the rear, where the owner/chef grows his own vegetables and fruit, it is a picture in the summer.
The rooms are superb, contemporary in style and extremelycomfortable and spacious. Both the rooms I have stayed in were well appolinted with large double bed, sofas, chairs and tables. More like a mini suite than a hotel room.
The restaurant is classic French with excelent food and a good wine selection. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner/chef who makes you feel totally at home. He makes ample use of local produce, much of which is grown himself. The restaurant itself has a great ambience and a nice lounge area with leather sofas and open fires to relax in.
This is the classic French small hotel, the likes of which I hope never disappear. Who needs an Ibis when you can stay somewhere like this!
