I swim at Southwell most days and love to go to Southwell Garden Centre for lunch. They have great friendly staff, very reasonable prices, and a massive menu - lots of gluten free options too. Love the homemade soups.

Our lunch was free (thank god) because we had an Amazon voucher. Our table was reserved for us as was a high chair for our baby daughter. However, we had to line the high chair with a muslin cloth and clean it because it was in a disgusting state. That in itself was enough to ruin the experience! I felt there were too many tables in the room and we struggled to get our pushchair (and the highchair) in a suitable position so as not to obstruct other tables or diners. The room itself was a bit dated and could have done with a spruce up. On to the food, well it can only be described as average at best. I had fish and chips which was ok, the fish was a little overcooked but other than that it was fine but nothing special. We get better fish and chips at the local chippy. My partner had the cottage pie which did not look very appetising when it arrived. The mashed potato was all mixed in and it simply looked like one big sloppy mess! We couldn't even be bothered to complain because it hadn't cost us anything and we just wanted to finish our meal and get out of there! The one positive note was that the girl behind the counter taking our order was very polite and dealt with our order very efficiently. Apart from that, it was terrible. Never, ever again.

I had purchased a Groupon for £15 for an afternoon tea. On arrival we were told half the items on the menu were unavailable. Very poor sandwiches, dirty plates, zero service or smile, were told to sit on a certain numbered table but tables were not numbered they were all crammed together so you could just about get through them. Strongly recommend against this experience!!!

Went for Sunday lunch today to this busy little tearoom,was quite surprised to see that most the tables were booked and quite a few booked for 2 sittings.I was informed by the polite young girl on the till that most were regular customers that came every week ,and i can see why !!.We ordered roast beef which we found very good and it was nice to have the vegetables and gravy served seperate. After viewing the large selection of different cakes and sweet treats in the cake cabinet we opted for the homemade blackberry and apple crumble with custard which was very good and a very generous portion !! Will certainly be visiting again soon .

Had a amazon voucher glad i didnt pay full price had sunday lunch the food was awful , roast beef looked as though it had been boiled gravy had no taste very bland , i will say the latti we had was very nice
