Visited with friends after a trip to Soutwell races we arrived at about 19.15 restaurant nearly empty although it did fill up later, staff were friendly but seemed lacking in experience.
First problem came with the bread platter £4.50 for two pieces of olive bread and two thin slices of supermarket wholemeal, our complaint was first answered by the comment 'that it was definately all homemade' followed by 'that must be a mistake the thin bread is meant for prawn cocktails' and finally 'we wont charge you for it'
My main course was the signiture Moon Pie which was bland and tastless, two of our party ordered pork fillet with Garlic Mash and that was exactley what was served without a trace of vegetables. When our pleasant waitress enquird if our meal was Ok our negative comments were answered with I will mention it to chef, needless to say nothing transpired
At £80 for one starter, four main courses, one sweet and 4 glasses of wine the meal was not expensive but did not represent good value for money.
