Friendly owner, the booking was found on the day of departure but htis wasn't a problem.
Room was re-booked spontaneously to one with WLAN.

The room is a bit old fashioned, the working space is small (Laptop + notepad = full table)

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Schlair for one night in July while on a trip to visit abbeys in Austria. The Hotel Schlair is very conveniently located to the Kremsmunster Abbey and within driving distance to several others. The hotel staff was friendly, spoke english well and was very accommodating. The rooms had a '70's vibe to them but ours was large and had free wifi which was very appreciated. There didn't appear to be an elevator in the hotel which wasn't an issue for us but might be for some travelers so I would inquire about it if it was important to you. The breakfast was good with fresh baked goods and better than decent coffee. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask about elevators/stairs if this is an issue for you.

Are you looking for a destination where you can stay in quaint surroundings and enjoy the Austrian countryside, yet receive modern amenities--and dine on gourmet cuisine?

Then make your reservations to stay and dine at the Hotel Schlair in Kremsmunster, Austria. Here you'll stay in style in a building that's some 800 years old. And you'll wake up to the fragrant aromas of the bakery, and feast like a king in the orangerie. You can just stay at the Hotel Schlair and relax around their fireplace--or visit the countryside or Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna, just a few hours away.

But at night, be certain to return so you can enjoy the gourmet cuisine of Chef Erik Kux, who co-owns the hotel with his pleasant wife Maria. These two do whatever it takes to ensure that you enjoy your stay. I know I certainly will remember my visit--and definitely plan to return soon.
