“QUICK STOP”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

We heard about this restaurant from Facebook Breezes Jibacoa site and decided to stop in on our way back from Varadero with our driver and friend. Although we didn't stay for a meal, we did enjoy an excellent Pina Colada and some garlic shrimp. Next trip we will definitely plan accordingly and have a meal there as we have heard the food is very good from people staying at the resort 'down the hill'.

“Good food, portions are very generous”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Easy walk from the resorts, if you have a container bring it because there is tonnes of food. The lobster was quite flavourful as was the shrimp. Pork was also good. Didn't have fish when we went =( Gets busy around early dinner time 3-6pm. Reservations may be required

“The best of Traditional Cuba”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Chino the owner is a class act, very friendly, the seafood, excellent, the service friendly, this will be the first place I go back to, I was at a different place everyday, this was the best.
A very good place for either romance or getting together with friends.

“Tasty, great service and prices”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We were a party of 5. My husband and I and 3 friends that live in the area. Service was exceptional, and the food was hot and tasty!
Items ordered were garlic shrimp, pork, chicken. My husband said it was the best chicken he has had in Cuba. Shrimp were good and so was the pork.
I had a pina colada and it was one of the better ones I have had in Cuba. Not the best ones but very good. You add your own rum to it.
I will return for sure!
Cost for all 5 of us with drinks and tip was $40.00

“El Cacique is now a restaurant on it's own rather than in a home!”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

On December 24,2012, El Cacique became a restaurant in it's own right. Other reviews here talk about a family home, but it is now just a restaurant. It is a short walk up the hill from both Cameleon Villas Jibacoa and Breezes Jibacoa. There are 5 tables inside and it is covered with a roof. Pina coladas are 2.50 CUC,very tasty, and you add your own rum. The bottle sits on the table and you add it as you wish. We all ordered the garlic shrimps for 8 CUC and they were great, along with black beans and rice, and a plate of tomato, cucumber and cabbage. The waiter was very nice, and it was great to get off resort for a meal out. When you first go in,they will give you a meal with 3 lobster options on it, all about 15 or 20 CUC. If you want something else (like pork, or chicken or fish ,or shrimp) ask for the OTHER menu, where prices start at 5 CUC. At these prices ,you could afford to eat out every night....It's open from Noon-9pm 7 days a week, and is well worth the walk up the hill. Will try to post the menu pix......If not ,just email me for details......A great time at El Cacique....
