“Excellent fresh fish”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We came here on the recommendation of our friends at Vilacampina Guesthouse in Tavira. It was another great Portuguese restaurant (there are so many). I recommend ordering the lapas na chapa for a unique shellfish appetizer that is harvested the owner- it was delicious and very different from anything we had tried before. You can choose your fish from the case- so fresh! I also really enjoyed the fig desserts you can find around Sagres- the one here was no exception. The service was great and the owner was very nice and helpful. It was a very authentic, delicious experience.

“Excellent food, price and service”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Excellent food, price and service

Decoration: charming, full of sea references and vintage tools
Food: my tastebuds tingle everyt time I remember about that dinner. An absolute joy for the sense. We ordered a fish casserole. Amazing taste, more than generous portions, extremely good value for money. Fish and sea food were super fresh.
Beverages: we drank white wine. Wonderful mix.

“Superb fresh fish in a family run buzzing local restaurant.”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Great find hosted by some friends that live locally. Excellent piri piri prawns, some delicious one pot fish pasta and all served by the owners who have established a sustained local reputation for great food. People in there dined alone, in big groups and couples. Great service. The house red was excellent too. Go there!

“Worth a detour”
Reviewed February 25, 2012

This is what makes travel to distant places worth while. Sometimes you come across an authentic little local restaurant with high standards "in the middle of nowhere". Started off with fresh Percebes followed by grilled sole and almond cake. Superb. High quality all the way through. Fresh, well prepared, fairly priced. You sense the seriosity of the staff the moment you walk in through the door. No frills, focus on the food. Local knowlegeble clientel. The total opposite to overpriced upmarket tourist traps in major cities. Left the place in high spirits hoping to return one day. One of the highlights of our visit to the region.
