“13th year there so must be good!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

We have been staying as a family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children) for 13 years. The apartments are always clean and very well equipped. We always go over the Easter period for the end of the ski season - a car is advisable but not absolutely necessary as there is the ski bus.

We have been having the same large apartment for several years now which consists of 2 double bedrooms, a sofa bed in the lounge area; one main bathroom with bath and toilet and a shower room with shower and toilet.

There is a small children's play area outside which my children have used since they were very young (now 13 and 9 they are a bit too old but still use someimes).

Natalia the owner is a fantastic lady who speaks many langagues. She is a great host and we look forward to seeing her every year.

Roll on Easter 2015.

We spent 10 days at Apartments La Neu and would highly recommend it. We had a super clean, well equipped, warm and cosy apartment with a balcony over the river. We're a family of five, 2 adults, 2 teenage girls and a 9 year old girl, hence we opted for an apartment with a bathroom and separate shower room, which was only about €40 more, well worth it with 2 teenagers. Bathrooms are excellent, great water pressure and plenty of hot water - better than we're used to at home. The kitchen is well equipped, even included a dishwasher, not that we used it. No, there is no kettle, as someone commented on in an earlier review, but if you are from a tea drinking country you can boil water just as easily in a saucepan, it makes tea just the same and uses probably less electricity. It also appears that many travelers from nations where kettles are not found in every house, try to make their coffee or hot chocolate in the kettle, so the kettle turnover becomes more expensive than it is worth. Beds were comfy, with extra pillows and blankets in the cupboards, there was a flat screen TV with USB, so we took films for the kids on a stick and loads of storage space.
Reception is open from 8:00am til 9 or 9:30 at night. Owners, Natalia and Toni are both tremendously helpful, and will go the extra mile when it comes to service, and everything is with a smile, and little Amal is helpful, cheerful, sweet and efficient. If there is anything you need, ask and they will try and arrange it, they are there if you need them but unobtrusive if you don't. If you want anything from ski passes to lessons they will arrange it, and yes the ski passes are cheaper from them, we saved well over €100 by booking our ski passes with Natalia, rather than booking direct on the Vallnord web site. Natalia is mega efficient (not something you find too often these days) and sorted everything for us via e mail, ready for our arrival.
You can order bread and cakes daily from reception and there is a bar open all day, but only for drinks and pizza after 16:00. There is their own restaurant 400m up the road, and 2 or 3 others in walking distance, anything else is driving distance. Although you could stay here without a car, as the free ski bus and ordinary bus pass fairly regularly and stop outside the door, I wouldn't recommend it. Arcalis is 15mins drive in one direction and Pal, Arinsal and La Massana are 10 to 15 mins drive in the other direction, so for skiing in either part the location is good. There is plenty of free parking if you drive up to the Pal, Arinsal or Arcalis ski slopes, although they are much busier traffic wise at the weekends. If you want to park in La Massana and take the cable car up to the ski slopes, then you can buy a €5 bono card for the car park at the Vallnord ticket offices on the floor just below the cable car on your way up and this gives you 9 or 10 hours of parking for €5. Just shove the bono card in the machine after your car park ticket when you go to pay, and away you go. Also, don't forget if you have purchased lift passes, you can get €3 per pass back when you return your plastic card lift passes back to the Vallnord ticket office after they have expired. There is also plenty of free parking outside the apartments for its clients.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants around, but they are all driving distance, Ordino and La Massana are the nearest at 10mins drive away. Dia supermarket is also OK for bits of grocery shopping, again 10mins drive away. This year they had more snow than for the last 10 years, but despite this we managed to drive to the ski slopes daily as the roads are kept pretty clear, but we did need the snow socks from time to time.
The apartments are not cleaned daily, so if you're looking for maid service, possibly not for you. However clean towels, sheets etc are available from reception whenever you want to change them. If they had duvets on the beds then for me it would have been pretty near perfect, I do love my duvet over blankets, but not often you find duvets anywhere.
If you have your own transport, and enjoy the ability to choose to ski where you want, when you want, and prefer things a little quieter, then this is a perfect base for your holiday,
very warm, friendly and welcoming

All positive experience - very comfortable and nice aparthotel in beautiful location between Vall Nord (Arcalis) and Andorra capital. We chose it for money reasons - it offered best value for the family of 3, and liked it a lot. Wifi worked well, room was cleaned every day. People working there are smiling and very responsive.

It is just 10 mins drive to Arcalis and about 15 mins to la Vella. There is a possibility of walks just outside of hotel by the side of small river. There is also kids playground. It is very nice and cosy place and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Excellent apartments - the photos do not do them justice. Clean, well furnished, great bathrooms and kitchens and loads of storage. The closest to Arcalis ski slopes I could see. They couldn't have been more helpful with the booking, arranged ski passes and in general bent over backwards to accommodate us. The attached bar/cafe provided great breakfasts to suit all tastes - eggs and bacon/coffee & croissant and pizzas and paninis were available throughout the day. The free bus stops outside the apartments but when, after a huge dump of snow the bus was full, the apartment owner drove us up the slopes himself. Can't thank him enough as many people couldn't take advantage of the awesome conditions on the slopes because they couldn't get there - cars without snow chains were not allowed up. HIghly recommend these apartments.

We were traveled by the group of 4 people. The best impression for us is that apartments inside looks much more better that on the photo. It's unusual and always good surprise. Also the staff was very friendly and organized skipasses, ski rental and other things we asked, however do not believe them that you are getting any discount - it's just not true. E.g. we checked the price for skipass on the slope and it was on 4 euro cheaper per week per person, but we were told by hotel that we're getting skipasses with 10% discount...

I would recommend this hotel ONLY if you are traveling by car. They have bus stop near hotel, but i never seen buses there. So you will need to use a taxi which is expensive and sometimes hard to get. Hotel has a big private parking and it's free.

The location of the hotel is good (if you have a car). It's not a far away from the slope and environment is good - mount right in front, small river under the balcony. However there is nothing about nightlife. The equipment of the kitchen could be better for long stays - there was no kettle, very old and scratched frying pans and not enough knifes (knifes for meet is a MUST in such places). Also ventilation could be better. Anyway, our overall impression from our stay was more than less positive.
