On the plus side, the place is very well located, looks lovely from the outside and has a beautiful terraced restaurant meandering up a tree-covered hill with a babbling stream running through it. And the food was fairly good in the restaurant, too.

But the place really leaves a lot to be desired. Our room was small and hot, with a non-effective a/c unit. The sheets, which were a little grubby and torn, were not changed during our 3-night stay. The towels and robes were also torn, and the bathroom itself was tiny.

Service, with the exception of one waitress on the Sunday afternoon and evening of our stay, was really nonchalant, bordering on rude. It all seemed just too much effort for the waiters and front desk staff to help us.

It's a shame because the place is not cheap and because it has such great potential to be a really top-class hotel with its building and setting.

we have been there for a couple of days after receiving an offer, when we got there the offer was changed obviously with a higher cost on us, service generally was ok, nice back yard too, but the prices were high and generally the staff's attitude towards customers was not right-as if they hated working there.

My son and I stayed at this delightful hotel and a had a few of the best days we have ever spent together. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and organized for us to be shown around the area. One day we did a trip to the glorious Danube. Another day we had a guide organized by the hotel who took us hiking in the mountains around the hotel. The evenings were spent eating out in a charming garden restaurant at the back of the hotel with a mountain stream running through the middle. Food was very good and I recommend the trout. The spa waters looked very inviting and next time we come back we'll plan on spending a week and making full use of the spa. Only problem was the shower - the hot water is towards the right even though the red indicator is on the left! Enjoy.

The hotel has a huge charming rustical backyard and a nice fassade, but that's about it. The room was filthy, the heating didn't work properly, the bathroom didn't have a tub but a dirty cabin that was collapsing on us every time we had a shower, we only had one of these free shower gel sachets for 2 persons in 2 days, ther'es just 3 or 4 romanian tv channels that you see with snow, the minibar didn't feature a bottle opener, the food was average to bad, they served us cold red wine and warm white wine in chipped water glasses... The luxury suite wasn't better-it had a huge hallway with just a sofa in it and a small room. And their spa area basicly resumes to a tiny hot water pool that looks old, but green palstic pipes come out of all the walls. You're much off in one of the new small hotels downtown.
