We are passionate Colfosco visitors, and by our recent stay in "Mezdi" hotel this time, all our
expectations and needs has been fulfilled. Hotel is situated practically at the slopes, what gives
the real skier opportunity to use the beautiful slopes from early morning, nearly always under
rising sun. "Mesdi" is family running hotel with highly professional, multinational service crew.
Warm atmosphere, the great food and assorted vines from its cellar makes this place like
"I will come back".
Otherwise Colfosco is at high altitude (1650m), having nearly always sunshine or snowing, a
perfect place for health.

We have been to Dolomites many times in the past and we were taken aback with the recent rudeness with which hotels deal with reservations. At this particular hotel we had to pay for 7 nights while we only wished to remain 4 nights, because no other hotel would rent a room for less than a week. The food was so and so, and the service was ok. The location was great and had a wonderful view of Val Mezdi. It was also really close to the ski school which we appreciated having kids 7 and 9 years old. All and all it wasn't bad, there was the occasional rude Russian tourist who felt like diving into the buffet while all the others waited patiently in line, and displayed the arrogance and entitlement only Russians can. But most of the clients were Italian or German, and so we preferred the place to some of the more posh hotels in the area after all.

We go tho ski every year, and to Alta Badia for the few last years. We love the area, so we keep coming back, We stayed at some great places b4 and expected the same here.
We booked a week in the hotel with half board (no other option during the ski season). We asked to arrive a day earlier and were refused, as they were full, which eventually turned out , that they were not.
THE ROOM: We got a room in the original (older) part of the hotel. The room was tiny, but nicely decorated.
NEW / OLD: Everything in the hotel seems to have two parts, the older and the newer (the rooms, the dining room, the wellness area, the lobby). The newer part of the lobby is grand in space, but seems empty and characterless. So is the new part of the dining room.
LOCATION: You just have to cross the street and walk 25 meters, and you can slide into the slopes. Coming back, you have to carry your skis for about 25 meters more, uphill from the slops.
WELLNESS: There is the indoor swimming pool, in the older section of the hotel with some corners of jet streams, and water fountain. I enjoyed it on the first day, as we arrived early and it was not too busy. The rest of the week it was full of kids, so we avoided it. The wellness center on the newer side of the hotel has everything you need. Finish Sauna, Steambath, warm room, jet showers, rest area, water beds... nice
FOOD: The food was very good, although, if you wanted to taste the more exotic things from the Salad Bar(like fresh seafood) you have to get there early, and stand in line (which we didn't)otherwise you could learn it was there only by the leftovers on the early arrivals tables. The service at the restaurant was very nice and the staff very attentive and friendly.
WHAT We EXPECTED MORE? Some more attention and sympathy from the management. Emails we sent prior to our arrival were answered very shortly and strict, never signed. We got the same feeling while there. There was never anyone at the reception. Keys were hanging there to take and leave, on your own. Whenever we had a question or needed help, we have to look for someone, and got the feeling that we are disturbing them. Internet use (wireless with your laptop) cost, 2 euro/hr, and is very slow.
