An extra service experience from the owner, her son and the rest of the staff. They arranged a room for us even though it was actually full at new years eve. They gave as a bottle of wine and invited us to the local new years celebrations. Clean and nice room.
We had a great experience, nice clean double room, on the ground floor but we didn't experience any noise or disturbance at all.
Really great staff, arranged a tour for us with another couple from the hotel, made us tea and coffee in the morning, booked us taxis and transfers, really went out of their way to help us.
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rio Lagartos.
The rooms are very basic, but in fairness, they are very cheap.
The beds are comfortable and the place is clean.
There is free coffee in the foyer, which opens into an internal courtyard which does mean that noise travels upward to the rooms.
No breakfast opportunity other than the coffee.

Great value for money. Excellent base for exploring the area of Rio Lagartos. Hotel staff are very friendly and offer a very warm welcome. Comes with excellent tourist map and insider knowledge of the local area and the best things to do.
Can organise wildlife tours. That's a plus as booking them online is over priced.
Feeling very happy with our stay
The rooms are basic and only somewhat clean, and the WiFi spotty. The hotel is not located on the malecon but in the town center which can be noisy depending on where your room is located as folks play ball till very late at night. But what really makes up for the hassle are the wonderful folks at the front desk. Our guaranteed rooms were given away by the Posada Mercy Inn and we landed up at the reception here at Hotel Tabasco Rio unsure as to what to do since it was late at night. The kind (blonde) lady let us connect to the WiFi and search for hotels. When none showed as available, she called hotels in neighbouring San Felipe and found us one. The next day we were back and stayed for 2 nights with them, each time experiencing good customer service from all of the front desk folks.
