Valle d'Aosta --in the far northwestern corner of Italy-- is a beautiful region with castles, Roman ruins, and the Gran Pardiso National Park.
For a stay in the region, drive up into the cool, pure, mountain-air to the village of Champoluc, and there, is the lovely Villa Anna Maria.
The inn is very well managed by Sigs. Miki and Jean Noel Origone. The furnishings, floors, and walls of the inn are of beautifully aged wood -- and the atmosphere is quiet, comfortable, and hospitable. The sleeping rooms are well maintained - and the bathroom (ours) was tiled with beautifulm blue, Italian tiles. Bath towels --three types: terry cloth, cotton waffle cloth, and linen--are great. The dining room and solarium also have very nice, oiringal furnishings-- and breakfast is good. (the dinig room was open only for breakfast in May - and Jean Noel Origone directed us to an excellent local restaurant for dinner).
For a visit to Valle d'Oasta, head for Villa Anna Maria -- a true gem in the mountains !
