We just returned from 4 nights at the Villa with our 10 and 14 yr. old boys. It was the end of a 12 day trip to Italy and a great place to rejuvenate after the frantic pace of Rome and Venice. We had a huge room with a fireplace that must have been one of the main rooms at one time in the Villa's history. The shuttered windows opened onto the front terrace and a great view of the surrounding hills. Our bathroom was across the hall and ours exclusively - we all adapted to having to leave the room to use the facilities and it was fine in the end. The infinity pool was a refreshing break after a day of touring in the area and we had nice meals at the restaurant on two of the nights there. The kids befriended the cats and dogs in residence at the hotel - Marco the kitten was a particular favorite. The Villa's setting in the hills was beautiful and the grounds were full of olive trees, apricots, grapes and what I think were pomegranates. In addition to a great place to unwind, the Villa was within easy distance of several day trips. We easily visited Pisa, Viareggio (for lunch on the beach) and Lucca in one day, drove to Florence for the museums and Ponte Vecchio for a day and, best of all, made an easy trip for a day exploring the Cinque Terre (not to be missed). The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast spread was ample and the modern conveniences made the stay in an historic building comfortable. Highly recommended!

This is a gem of a hotel - quiet, great pool and if you are flying out of Pisa, 15 minutes from the airport. Try and book rooms in the main Villa building, they have rustic charm and character - the rooms that are not attached are just rooms - they lack character.

Kids absolutely loved the pool, it has a large shallow end. Lucca is well worth spending some time in - I would recommend taking time to stroll the walls of an evening (most of Lucca seem to!)

Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting Lucca, and touring Italy. Only 10 mins drive from Lucca, easy to find. The facilities at this hotel are excellent; decent size swimming pool with loungers, free wifi, excellent breakfast, nice rooms. Staff are friendly, bi-lingual and very helpful. Lovely setting in the hills, peaceful and tranquil. The restored building and terraces are an Italian delight. I would have quite happily stayed for longer. The Rinascimento has a nice restaurant that serves all-day and evening food, although there are some trattoria and pizzeria not far away.

I would heartily recommend.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and decided to have our wedding reception here in May. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are very nice and its a great location to go off and explore the surrounding areas. Its roughly a 10 min drive to Lucca, 20 mins Pisa and just under an hour to Florence. Its also pretty easy to get around by train or bus from this hotel.
All of our guests commented on how great the staff were, they really made such a difference to our stay. The food in the restaurant is also very good, the views from the pool are amazing. We will be going back every year :)

We were booked in here for only one night but loved it so much we stayed another night. The Hotel is very old school farmhouse, very beautiful with lovely views. The meals we ate there both nights were AMAZING. Very very yum. Perfect location between Lucca & Pisa but also out in the country so nice & quiet. Would definitely return.
