“Peace and quiet in a lovely location”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

This was a wonderful place to stay. We had the first floor room with views on three sides, and were able to lay in bed, and look at the sea in the distance.
Although just off the A1, don't let that put you off from staying there - you cannot hear any traffic - just the birds, and the contented chickens...
The room and facilities were beautifully clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were wonderful - perfectly done soft-boiled eggs, from the happy hens we could see from the Breakfast Room.
Andrea and Gary were perfect hosts - there when you needed them, but not when you didn't. The recommendation of a meal at The White Swan was an excellent one - our meals were superb.
A really good short break, and we are looking forward to a return visit in the Spring.

We recently had a very pleasant 3-night stay here. Perfect location - beautifully peaceful, but with easy access by car to the amazing Northumberland attractions. Breakfast lovely and very relaxed. Inobtrusive, friendly hosts. Beautiful room. Loved it!

What a lovely place to stay. Sadly for us the weather was far from idyllic (our fault for choosing a stay in late June!!!!) and therefore the views from our room were not at their best. However, the accommodation was superb, the hospitality excellent and the breakfasts perfect. I guess in a way the weather was to our advantage because it just means that we'll have to return!!!! Shame!!!!!!

Room Tip: We chose the Castle View room which was lovely. However I'm sure that all the rooms have their o...

This really is an impressive B&B in a stunning location. I could quite imagine the Granary being on Grand Designs. We stayed in the Garden Room which provided a beautiful room with the added benefit of an extra sunny room were you can sit and relax, either on the settee or at the table. We were entertained in the garden by a roving chicken and various visiting birds, including a woodpecker. The bathroom is unusually for a B&B not off the bedroom which is a nice feature. There is a large lounge with breakfast area where we enjoyed a superb breakfast, try the scrabbled egg with salmon, or freshly made porridge for example. The location is ideal for visiting all along the Northumberland coast, close to the A1 and yet remote enough to make you feel that you have escaped to somewhere different. A great stay and great hosts in Andrea and Gary.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 days and were absolutely stunned! The place is so peaceful and surrounded my wildlife, you wouldnt know it was just off to A1! Only 10min drive to most popular places! We stayed in the castle view room and the views were beautiful, didnt want to go home! Andrea and Gary were so welcoming and were very helpful! Loved our stay here and will definately be returning and recommending!
