Although not terrible, Panshan was a disappointment. A lot of the climb involves pushing your way past other tourists as you pass many recently man-made temples and pavilions. The higher you climb, the more natural it becomes and the better your experience becomes. The views from the higher points of the mountain are the highlights.
The entrance fee of 100 Yuan is very expensive compared to many other attractions (and more natural mountains) in the area and there are also additional costs on the mountain (for the various cable cars).
Given its proximity to Jixian itself, I can see why so many people visit Panshan. However, if you're looking for a relaxing break with plenty of natural scenery , I'd recommend giving Panshan a miss in order to visit some of the other places around Jixian.
