“Very Good - But could have been excellent”
Reviewed October 30, 2010

The welcome we received was second to none. We were shown to our room by 2 staff members and had assistance with our luggage.
The first night we had dinner in the restaurant - a big mistake. The scallop mornay consisted of 2 very nice fresh scallops & the rest were frozen & rubbery. The lamb rack, was actually crumbed fatty lamb chops. Needless to say, we didn't have dinner there again, what a difference is would make if they had a good chef on board.
Our room was a beachfront one with a great view, unfortunately our bathroom was a bit smelly (a bit like a public toilet) but after 3 complaints they eventually cleaned it properly and the smell went.
The room was nice & quite for sleeping, we just got woken in the morning by the housekeeping staff talking in the vacinity of our room.
The pool was great except for the noisy filtration system which could be heard from the loungers beside the pool, the door to the filtration room could not be closed as the room could overheat.
Muri Beach area is awesome we thoroughly enjoyed the lagoon, kayaks, motor scooters etc.
Our final disappointment was at check out time. We didn't get asked if we had a good time or if we enjoyed our holiday, in fact we didn't even get a thank you. What a contrast it was to when we checked in, must be the luck of the draw as it was a different staff member on at check out time.
Overall we did enjoy our time there, but would probably seek other accommodation next time.

We arrived at the Muri Beach Club Resort with reservation confirmation in hand only to find out that they had no record of us booking, and the hotel was full. They assured us this wouldn't be a problem they would just wait until the manager and led us into the restaurant to enjoy their breakfast. While eating, the manager, Liana, came up and informed us the problem was pretty much miscommunication between them and Expedia, which has since been fixed. To remedy our situation she set us up in a beach front suite for part of our trip, a beach front suite at the Pacific Resort for two nights, and then we would be back at the Muri Beach Club for the remaining time in the room we originally booked (garden view or something) with some champagne set out. Plus, for our trouble we were also given $200 NZ to spend at their restaurant, which equated to two very lovely dinners. My favorite thing about the hotel was the location. I thought it was situated on a very nice part of Muri beach toward the northern end with a little more seclusion and a wider beach than the other resorts. This beach was also directly across the most popular motu and was just a short kayak or swim away. In other words, this was the beach everyone else who came to Muri lounged on, even if they were at another Muri Resort, but it also wasn't too crowded while we were there. The hotel restaurant was very good, prices were reasonable and the vouchers covered two dinners with appetizer, entrees a bottle of wine and maybe dessert. The breakfast was also consistently very good and actually better than at the Pacific Resort. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, with the exception with one who had a problem with the fact that we didn't make a reservation 24 hrs in advance to be taken to the airport at the end of our stay, but it's like, well you can either make it for us or not but quit whining. I guess we didn't get the memo about this 24hrs notice. The rooms are very clean, no insects! and well equipped. They are a bit stark with minimal decor and white walls and floors but it also brigthens the room and makes it feel even more clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Muri Beach Club Hotel, they exceeded our expectations and definitely gave good compensation for the booking snafu. This is a hotel that cares very much for their guests and does everything they can to ensure they have a nice stay.

this location is on a lovely beach, our experience was less than expected due to ats running across dining room tables, and overall staff attitude,
Raro is a wonderful island and the people are very friendly. This resort seems to have some management/ owner issues that greatly impact customer service. Lovely pool buy no poolside service. Meals were very poor but great restaurant, flaming tree, right next door.

Spent 4 nights here in a premium garden room. Its a newish hotel right on Muri beach. the room was fine, reasonably spacious and with a pleasant and private balcony. It is a relatively quiet place, only about 30 rooms and an over 18 policy. There is a village cultural show next door and that made a lot of noise till about 1030 one night, but no real drama.
Breakfast is basic but good and the staff are helpful - they let us make a couple of calls home when our flight was delayed and didn't charge us which was a nice touch.
The lagoon out the front is great to swim in, but you will need reef shoes. Most of the coral out front of the hotel is dead, but there are some decent snokeling spots a short kayak ride away.
I'd happily go back, a great place to relax and get some rest.

Stayed here for 2 nights after staying in Aitutaki for a week. We had been staying at villas, which had beautiful outlooks onto the beach, so we were a bit put out when we turned up here and got shuffled to an air conditioned hotel room in the corner of the hotel.

All in all it is clean has a nice pool, good breakfast and everything you need, but thought it was a bit pricey and really we could have been staying anywhere in the world, unlike the villas we stayed at that had a bit more culture.

Pretty good location, Muri Beach has restaurants and things to do etc. but it

We had a great time here - the setting is idyllic, the resort is small and doesn';t have kids, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the food was good. Cannot think of one thing that wasn't great! except perhaps the weather! We did have a couple of wet and windy days. There was a wedding on our last day - the restaurant and beachside setting looked wonderful!

We stayed six nights in a beachfront room - really appreciated the superb location - absolute best on Muri Beach.
Nice spacious newer hotel with great pool and restaurant with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Great place to just relax and do nothing much.
