We stayed at the Muri Beach for just five nights while on a round the world trip. We wish we had stayed for 50! A stunningly beautiful location. The rooms were excellent and the service among the most friendly we encountered anywhere. Hong Kong service was slicker but there appeared to be genuine friendliness from all the staff at the Muri. The absence of " screaming kids" which we encountered in other hotels was a real bonus.
We would have preferred the dining room to be a little more formal. Smart casual would have been better. Most ofthe guests dressed well in the evening but there were still a few who favour cut off jeans and disreputble tee shirts (ugh!).
My only suggestion for the hotel is to pave the dining area outside the restaurant. Its a bit disturbing as your chair sinks slowly into the sand..
Full marks too to the Cook Island people we met. They chat onthe beaches, they chat in the restauants andin the shops. They were great. Only sour notes were the two bus drivers who were quite surly. Ask a question and you get a grunt and that was on both the clockwise and anti-clockwise.routes. Best bet is to hire a car - they are very cheap and stay away from the rather ancient buses.More
