Just magic everything was perfect. From day one to the very last day,I go for a walk along the beach at 6 in the morning,it was so dam hot, I had a dip in the sea water, and that was warm as. Shops are very handy, walk there every day, to pick up some cold [Hieney]
Love it. Having a nice cold Hieny one hot afternoon on the deck by the beach with my brother inlaws Austin & John, when suddenly we were drinking in the rain, and quess what the rain was warm. The Hideaway is the place to hide and have a very peaceful getaway from it all. Thanks Pauline & Graham.

We stayed for a few nights in the hillside unit and one night in the beach front bungalow. We were lucky as we had both places to ourselves all of our stay. The beach front deck was perfect for morning sunbathing and afternoon cocktails, and the pool is just deep enough for some silly jumping & underwater photo antics! With use of the kayaks, snorkelling equipment and reef shoes, we needed nothing else to enhance our stay.

The hillside units are in a beautiful setting just the right distance away from the other Muri properties and the main road. Located a little up the hill, we saw amazing sunrises over the banana trees, and could see a full sky of stars at night. It took us 5-10 minutes to walk to the main beach front accommodation, shop and restaurants. There was a resident cat (we named him Gordon after our duty free gin!) always waiting for us in the mornings and afternoons, a welcome addition to the natural surroundings!

The hillside units felt like they needed a little extra attention - no tea or coffee supplied, and they weren't spotlessly clean, but they were really good value if you need two bedrooms. The location and tranquillity made up for niggly bits.

The Polynesian style beach huts were decorated very tastefully and are right next the the beach and lagoon, with a few huts facing the garden. Our TV didn't work, but with only one TV channel, we weren't too bothered. Full kitchen facilities make this place really good for those who want some peace and privacy.

We got the impression that Muri Beach Hideaway is a small family run operation and not too business savvy. There are no restaurants or bars at the Hideaway, it is simply accommodation & pool. Although we could never work out if reception was open, the lady looking after us (not the owner) was very friendly, and had good advice about the island.

The location cannot be beat! Muri Beach is probably the most beautiful place on all of Rarotonga. The bungalows are nicely decorated and have a great lanai (deck) to sit out on! However, I felt a bit taken advantage of by Pauline. When I inquired with Pauline she listed the available units for my dates. I chose the "lagoon view" bungalow. However, when she confirmed my details, she indicated that she'd accidentally booked me in the "beach front" bungalow which was $20 more expensive a night but would charge me the lagoon view rate. When I checked out she charged me the more expensive rate and when confronted about this became very defensive claiming she was already giving me some type of discount. I loved the property, just not the way Pauline took advantage of me!

My husband and I stayed in the Beachfront Bungalow and could not have been happier with our choice. The room was nothing more and nothing less that what we needed and upon our arrival was full of fresh flowers and a few little necessities. We used the chairs on the deck and the kayaks everyday. The Hideaway is within walking distance to a number of fantastic restaurants, cafes, car/bike hire, groceries and dive companies. We didnt have to go far for anything. The 2 buses that take you around the island served us greatly, especially when they run to 2am Saturday morning for a good Friday night out on the town!!! The hotel service was wonderful, rooms made up everyday and fresh towels every second day, except Sunday as there are very few who work on a Sunday. The host Pauline is wonderful. Once a week she cooks up a traditional feist for her guests and it is just divine. It felt like a good old Ozzie backyard bbq, just a little bit fancier!!!! The onsite dog and cat also provided a bit of entertainment, very friendly and very lovable!! We will definitely be back and back and back again!! Just perfect!!!

This was our second stay at Muri Beach Hideaway, our experience there was just as good as the first. The bungalows are well kept and serviced daily. Lovely gardenia's and other flowers are placed in the bungalow giving it a nice touch. The kitchen facilities have all the things that you need for a short stay.
Pauline, is a lovely host, always very helpful and provides excellent service to her guests.
The location is excellent, very close to everything you need: shops, restaurants (within walking distance to many including our favourite little Italian restaurant called Stefano's for a simple yet good quality pasta meal) , internet cafe ( if you really really need it) and an excellent bakery next door. The location as far as the lagoon goes is excellent for snorkelling and swimming and it is also not too far from another great snorkelling spot at Tikioki beach.
Good value for money and I would highly recommend it for a comfortable stay.

We were looking for the South Seas Experience, I had never been before and wanted to snorkle, relax and enjoy the location. We found The Muri Beah Hideaway on Trip Advisor and had seen the pictures of the bungalows. They were everything we' hoped for..
Very private, we were the only ones there for the first three days.

The amenities were amazing, considering there were only five bungalows. The bungalows had large covered front porches, equipped kitchen, and large bed/seating area. The pool, lagoon side deck and easy steps to white sand - we could either walk out and snorkle or use one of the kayaks and paddle out to an island . We loved walking to the bakery next door, picking up croissants to go with our fresh fruit from the property and eating breakfast on the porch - even if it was raining - it was always warm.

We were able to walk to almost everything we needed - in the eight days we were there we only rented a bike for one day and a car for another. The bus stop is just up the road from the Hideaway.

Pauline was always ready to help with umbrella (we did have those tropical rains on a few days), reservations, and information about the island. She fixed an incredible meal for those of us who were there on Saturday night -- it was a treat.

Don''t miss the Saturday market in "town" -- it only is open until noon, but the students dancing is well worth the early morning trip. Don't forget to donate for their school.

We'll return as soon as we can ---- Judy - West Linn, ORegon

Such Bliss is hard to find. No Kids Allowed was wonderful.
Peaceful , Quite and everything you could want in privacy and comfort
Would stay again and again.
No drawbacks and handy for everything on island etc.
Abit hard to find driveway if you drive yourself, but owner seems to like you to be met
at airport with Lei's etc. and driver then knows what hut to put you in without
her being woken up in the early hrs of the morning when planes seem to arrive.
Just make sure you clearly state that you are driving yourself if that is what you
intend to do and she will make contact and let you know what hut etc.
Only 5 huts and only saw two other people staying at various days we were there.
But it is wonderful and only a short stroll to restaurants *no restaurant onsite) and that
added to the peacefulness of the layout. Easy to walk to but hotels and restaurants if you wish.
