“Great Holiday Destinatiion”
Reviewed September 17, 2008

We travelled over 10,000 miles for a holiday in the Pacific and we weren’t disappointed. Raratonga is a beautiful island and turned out to be everything we imagined a Pacific island to be – idyllic and relaxing surroundings, coconut palms and blue waters – ideal to try a bit of snorkelling or kayaking.
The Pacific Resort proved to be the perfect place to stay – great staff, friendly, efficient, helpful and the standard of service and cleanliness was high. Our accommodation was terrific, a beachfront suite a great view of Muri Lagoon, which made it tempting to stay there every day. The Barefoot Bar and Sandals Restaurant provide a good selection of food and drinks prepared to a high standard.
We were advised that the best way of getting around was to hire scooters which proved to be a fun way of getting around the island, but if that doesn’t appeal to you there’s the bus service or bikes. Would also recommend the four wheel drive safari into mountains and rain forest.
A nice selection of bars and restaurants and would especially recommend Trader Jack’s in Avarua and the Flame Tree in Muri.
All in all, a great holiday destination and accommodation – will definitely be back!

We got married at the Pacific in June 2007 and without a doubt found this to be the best resort we've ever stayed at.

We were in a Garden Villa, which was beautiful, about 15 meters from the beach and just across a stream from the restaurant. At this time of year the weather was fine but not great, only low to mid 20s and overcast, but still good for just relaxing on the beach for a few hours.

The on site wedding planner looked after absolutely everything for our wedding. She drove us into town to get our wedding licence, organised photographer and makeup for my wife. On the day we asked her what we needed to do she said just make sure your dressed by 4pm and she will look after the rest. Certainly makes for a stress free wedding day.

As far as the resort goes, the buffet breakfast was as you would expect on a tropical island, lost of fruit etc but also continental breakfast available too. Restaurant was a little pricey but the food was outstanding. If you want food that's a bit cheaper try one of the many restaurants near by. We went to Flame Trees (I think that is what it was called) and it was cheaper with still amazing food just not a flashy building. Also tried Sails about 5 minutes walk down the beach which was also good.

The thing to remember about the Cook Islands is that you go there to relax, lay on beach and read a good book. If you want to go mountain climbing or seeing ancient sites etc, go somewhere else. Also your in paradise so who cares that you only have 1 TV station, if you can't live without TV for a while (we were there for 2 weeks) then again go elsewhere.

Diffenately worth another trip back.

Loved our stay here. first we were in a Unit but we upgraded to a Villa and this was really good. i would not recommend a Unit as there small and basic.
Food was really good and staff were really helpful. the one thing that we really loved was before my sisters wedding we asked the staff to make a flower thing to go around my daughters head and they did this for us.

Jess is the women who organises the weddings she was great as well.

I need to share the fantastic recent experience that I had staying at Pacific Resort , at Rarotonga. My wife and I have just returned from 5 wonderful nights at this resort, where we were looked after so well by the caring satff at THE BEST resort on the Island.!!

We were briefed on arrival about the recent Stomach Flu problems at the Resort, and were happy to hear that there had been no person ill since the 4th August, and in fact, there is no problem at all. The staff were extra careful with cleanliness, and also gave free bottles of water (purified), to all guests as a matter of course.

Back to the Resort,,,,,brilliant location, great food, friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful gardens, awesome coctkails, very good kayaks/windsurfers....add in the great weather, reasonable costs, and it was FANTASTIC...

We took time to ride bikes around the Island of Rarotonga (do it, its great fun, safe and easy!), and stopped in at several other resorts along the way, just to confirm we were staying at the nicest one.....yep, Pacific Resort is top of the list, and we will be coming back! Thanks to the staff, ka kite!

We have been lucky enough to have been to this idyllic place for the last 10 years, sometimes more than once. We have considered going elsewhere, (and did in the early years), but once you have found paradise why would you not return?
The Pacific Resort has welcomed our family 'home' and we love just everything. The staff are amazing, welcoming, friendly, beautifully warm, efficient and determined to make every stay the best you have ever had, anywhere. Our boys, now late teenagers, still love these family holidays and cannot wait to renew the friendships of the previous years and make new ones.
These stays are the highlight of our winter months.
The stay can be as lazy or as vigorous as you wish, from a good book under a palm tree, to snorkelling, scuba-diving, fishing or walking through the tropical bush. The Pacific resort and its staff will do everything to make your holiday, what you want.
We cannot recommend it highly enough. We have never returned so repeatedly and eagerly to the same place and cannot wait to return (and we are booked!).

We have stayed at Pacific Resort Rarotonga on five occasions during the past eight years and have always been impressed with the impeccable hygiene and cleanliness of the accommodation, restaurant and bar.

The recent "warning" report "FromtheNaki" would not deter us from returning to this exquisite resort at any time. I feel confident that the problem related will now be a thing of the past with all precautionary measures in place. Contrary to this isolated report, we found the all the staff - from reception to the housemaids to be most obliging and friendly

Outbreaks of this nature can occur anywhere, especially in the tropics, and we have personally sailed aboard a new world class cruise ship when a similar situation was experienced.

We look forward to another stay at Pacific Resort again before the end of this year. Still our No.1 choice in Rarotonga!

At Pacific Resort Rarotonga we experienced care and hospitality to our complete satisfaction. Our waterfront accommodation was an absolute delight, comfortable and well equipped; breakfasts a real relaxing treat to set us right for our day, and entertainment such as the cultural evening so enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed being truly spoilt at Pacific Resort Rarotonga; so much so, that we took out an extra couple of days to sample Pacific Resort Aitutaki! Mmmmmmmm, Delicious... but that's another of lifes delights...

Thank you Greg and all your staff for your care and attention
