“Island night - worthwhile!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

We booked a table of 10 for the island night, staff were very welcoming and accommodating while ensuring we had everything we needed. We had a few raros in our group and they were pleasantly surprised with how authentic the buffet was! Show was great, total value for a great night!

This is our second time staying at the pacific resort and was just as wonderful as the first time. The location is perfect, the restaurant on the beach has incredible views out towards the lagoon and the food was delicious. We stayed in a premium garden suite - the room was clean and modern and the bathroom huge and spotless.

Staff were always friendly and helpful and they really made us feel welcome.

Think you need to remember that when in Raro you are on island time so it may take a little longer for a drink to be served than you might be used to but to be honest this isn't a big deal and just gives you chance to soak up the amazing views.

Our only small niggle and it really wasn't a big deal but there were a lot of weddings at the resort the week we we there so we sometimes had to move sun lounger locations in the afternoon to accommodate but the beach hut guys did everything and it really wasn't a problem for us.

I think the pacific resort is one of if not the best resorts on the island. Have no hesitations recomending to others and have already done so. The staff just make everything easy for you from booking day excursions to hiring scooter or a kayak.

my wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon the whole team were very friendly and helpful, the location is beautiful and the room was great with a beautiful view of the lagoon, we would say that the Pacific resort is a must. Always something to do from kayaking and paddle boarding to snorkelling or even just relaxing on the beach or at the bar with a cocktail.
Thanks to the whole team

Pacific Resort - Rarotonga is a great place to stay (11 days) - very comfortable surrounding. All the staff from front deck, restaurant staff & beach hut boys where very knowledgeable & helpful which made our stay most enjoyable. We rented a neat little car from Avis at reception for a great deal & got to places that you can't see from the main road. We had a great time enjoying the use of the sail boat , learning to paddle board and kayaking & snorkling in the Lagoon. Having a go at scuba diving in the pool was great experience. Restaurants outside of resort where of very good standard. Game fishing was also exciting experience for the first time doing it. We will be back.

We just spent 6 magical days at The Pacific resort. We booked a family room ,which was not in the best spot ( dont take room 7,it over looks the car park on one side ),but we were quickly upgraded to a beachfront suite which was perfect !( we are so grateful for this !! ) The lagoon view is what dreams are made of !.The service was really proffesional in the resort and restaurant.
Swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon is just gorgeous ! Its safe and warm and if you head out the the island to the right via kayak you can find coral reafs teaming with tropical fish !
The food is good.Very good buffet breakfast.Lunch and dinner is so pleasant overlooking the lagoon with your feet in the sand.Expect to pay resort prices for this but its worth it !This is a tropical paradise !!
Our 8 year old Son loved the pool area as well. The resort grounds are well maintained and dreamy to walk through
We will be back for sure ! Thanks you to Everyone at The resort for a great holiday and wonderful memories .
A few more tips-
Take the Yellow bus around the Island and/or stop off near The Polynesian resort for more great snorkelling !
try Viama restaurant for the best food on the Island an amazing location in the sand, beachfront with beautiful sunsets,we went twice and loved it !They will pick you up and drop you back for about $20 NZ.
I had a really good massage at the resort Spa,great for jet lag recovery.
See you next Year !

.

Room Tip: Rooms 7,8 look onto the parking area on one side.so dont take these family rooms. The beach front roo...

Arrival
Greetings at hotel counter is a nice touch (water and flowers). Everyone at the front desk is very knowledgeable and has been helpful from day one. Check in was easy breezy :-)
We rented a scooter from Avis @reception for a day to go around the island (40 min) and to town for some shopping vs. the bus or a car...we really enjoyed it

Room - Standard studio room
Room very clean and spacious

Restaurant and bar
Continental Breakfast -» Good
Regular menu..good as well.
Coffee not so good (too weak for me) so I opted for tea

Lunch -» Excellent...especially scotch fillet and fish & chips (different fish every day....yum yum). Special thanks to Eric (head chef //our Canadian mate) and Billie for accommodating our last minute request! Thanks again!!!

Dinner -» Good. Great selection

Bar - Large selection of spirits.

Beach, Pool and Grounds
Beach - Clean. Employees are very nice and helpful. Some rocks in the water however crocks available for your use. Free access to canoes and snorkeling gear is available if you don't want to swim to nearby snorkeling spots. Some fishes can be seen right in front of resort.

Pool - Good size and clean. Did not use since we prefer the beach

Grounds - Very clean

Summary
Great resort, well maintained, friendly staff. Management presence is noticeable. Resort mgr (Ani) and Matt (@reception) were of great assistance in solving our minor issue we had. Special thanks to Ani for following up with us later that day to ensure that all was addressed.

Several restaurants walking distance from hotel. Two convenience stores nearby...the one on the left from hotel exit has better selection and food is more fresh. Owner Woo is very friendly too so that makes it worth the 10 min walk...and bring cash since no cc accepted...cash point on the way there if needed. Le bon vivant was ok...would not go back

The dive center near the Aora beach....very rude and ignorant people working there (obviously not from the island)...big no no for me

Stay tuned for more pics....2 more days to go!

For 11 days we had the absolute pleasure of staying at Pacific Resort, we had a deluxe family room which was big, bright, clean and only a few seconds from the pool and lagoon. Our son (15 y.o) had a great time, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, snorkling and learning to wind surf. The guys at the beach hut are great, always friendly and fun, a big thank-you 'Taina" for his patience and kindness in teaching the wind-surfing. The girls in the restaurant, especially Billie and Jane made us feel like family (the nice kind), breakfast with our feet in the sand and the gorgeous view will remain a favourite memory forever. Everyone from reception to the cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.
Location is perfect, ambience is perfect....can't wait to go back!
